0.4 Optimatization is legendary.

I have to admit, it’s truly impressive that since the PoE2 launch, every patch comes with a big promise of “better optimization,” yet somehow the performance keeps getting worse. At this rate, we’ll soon need to invest in a quantum computer and a personal support team just to be able to play.
It’s also funny how the exact same bugs from the Abyss launch have made a comeback. Nice job, team! Last bumped on Dec 15, 2025, 4:14:21 PM

Cpu usage was never a problem for me in poe 2, the real problem still is GPU usage and somehow it got even worse this patch

Performance is night and day for me, now im rock solid 60 fps (well 120-160 but me monitor is only 60hz so whatever)

Game runs perfect for me, other than random server issues. Maybe it's time to upgrade your i3 core duo with integrated graphics.

I lost all my textures, but in 0.3 it was all good...

I went from having no issues with framerate or textures to having slower load times overall and sometimes having my screen turn into a pixellated mess with choppy frames for no reason while the game is apparently struggling to load in textures.
My PC is definately low end but it can run this game on high settings without too much effort. Or it could, anyway. Now it's running hot for worse performance. Not sure what the heck they did. |

If your experience is worst it's probably because you have a low/mid end GPU and GGG didn't predict the increased VRAM usage and now it need to be reorganized to work under 4GB VRAM. Just hang tight and GGG will probably work on it during the week.

I have a high end pc 5080 32go ram and ryzen 9 9900x and every single time i load an area, fans are going berzerk and cpu usage spiking like crazy, this happen only on POE1 and POE2, been playing cyberpunk ultra settings with 1000mods never had fans running like this

Seriously on top of everything loading constantly, now even my items load, my inventory has to load, preview windows have to load, UI has to load, and of course the classic ground textures never loading and being permanently holes in space. None of this ever happened before.
At this point stop "improving" your engine. |
|
" So the old worse engine could run on i3 integrated graphics but their "improved" one struggles? If the game runs "perfect" for you for all anyone knows you're one of those teens who thought blight town lag in dark souls was a "reward" so who really cares. Performance is getting worse is all that matters. |
