Does anyone else feel PoE 2 is way too sweaty?

True but not every league mechanic needs to be for everyone, especially in early access. I mean so far the league mechanics in this game have been absolutely boring ports of stuff from POE 1.

It'll be so much nicer when there's just an admission that all it's ever going to be is copies and pastes from POE1, so that people like this will finally shut up about "it's early access" for a game they paid for over a year ago.

Its just a texture actualization.

Completely disagree. Abyss in PoE2 is much, much better than Abyss in PoE. And Temple will be much better than Incursion.

The PoE2 league mechanics are more ambitious, much harder to program, and have more gameplay depth.

I made a post about this a few months ago. Something about a constant state of reactionary gameplay. I don't think that's really changed. This games identity in this sense is the polar opposite of PoE 1 imo, and in a very bad way. There are still bosses and content in PoE 1 I still don't really do because it's not very casual friendly.... but I can still play most of the game and feel that sense of progression over the end game.

PoE 2 doesn't feel like this at all and I'm not even sure I can explain why. I've played ranked league of legends for many years.. and I would say PoE 2 is easily sweatier than that.. I feel that any content in the end game is so stressful I often just sit in my hideout avoiding actually playing the game and just staring at my hideout.

Obviously the game is much more than this and why I still love it.. However I fear this is a problem that's not going away for me if things do not change and I really doubt I'm the only one.

PoE 2 is sweaty for the wrong reasons: it's not the satisfying kind of difficulty that comes from complex build optimization or strategic depth

Instead, it's the exhausting micromanagement of damage rotations / skill mechanic (is this an tab target MMO or what?) and fear of instant death mechanics that leave no room for rewarding player skill, build experimentation or momentary lapses in focus

Combat has no depth in it, mobs just brainlessly chase you, and you brainlessly blast them, the in-between (a word GGG doesn't have in its vocabulary) doesn't exist, because there is nothing to challenge you other than the gimmick that leads to the feeling you are having..

The only moment where it has the right kind of sweatyness is in Act 1 at league start, but even then, the AI of mobs and the overall skill design leaves to be desired..

GGG caters to PoE players, wich is obvious, but that mean it's also PoE 1 players (this is Path of Exile IP after all), they can't just change philosophy, and as a result, it prevents them from making the proper changes needed to flip the situation, wich is funny because the whole premise of PoE 2 was to make the changes they couldn't make in PoE 1

But again, catering to PoE 1 players, and being afraid of their reaction is ultimatly the source of all of PoE 2 issues, the irony

This all comes at a cost: players aren't returning league after league, even for Free Weekend events, which should be alarming for GGG

We are staring at a fundamental misalignment between what people expect: an ARPG (ACTION RPG, not casino slot machine), and what GGG is giving: a Frankenstein between PoE 1 and a vision of PoE 2

GGG, it's one or the other, it can't be both

Improve, instead of asking for this game to be dumbed down even more.

Thanks.

The game can be challenging to beat, and fun to play along the way. If anything I'm asking them to add complexity.
