meaningful combat

You need to understand the defenses in this game.
Armour applied to elemental is not "ele resist" It is nowhere near as strong. And at 20k armour, it has a very small effect. The fact that you are getting one shot at 10k life should tell you just how much that defense really matters. Armour is not going to save a 0 res build. The kaoms+veil builds arent meant to take a bunch of hits. -max resist and curse maps would kill you as well. Mash the clean

lol you dont understand this game defences either as I see..
if there is literaly written 89% reduction it should be fckin 89% reduction. also if you run -10% or ele weaknes curse maps, your resistance is still zero as it said at helm. its žero if you have +million and its zero if you have -million I blame GGG for lack of high hp options, and tragic armour calculations. I blame them that if you have 11k hp you have 1,5khp potions... i blame them that that tanky melee classes are in much more danger than ranged glass cannons. (same shit as poe1) I dont find it meaningful combat you act as pro who wanna teach others and sais nonsenses without any explanation of true calculations... The damage reduction from armour on the character screen is a lie. It uses an average sized hit in the calculation which means nothing when hits can be 500 or 30k.
The formula for damage reduction is: Damage reduction = Armour / (Armour + 5*Damage) So as the hits get bigger, the damage reduction gets smaller and smaller. With your 20k armour, the DR for a 30k damage hit is: DR = 20k/(20k + 5*30k) = 20k/(170k) = 11.8%. So you take 26.5k damage out of the 30k. With your 20k armour, the DR for a 500 damage hit is: DR = 20k/(20k + 5*500) = 20k/(22500) = 88.9%. So you take 56 damage out of the 500. Last edited by SaiyanZ#3112 on Jan 7, 2026, 7:45:51 AM

" Also worth adding, that elemental hits are HUGE because at baseline, you're expected to have 75% res. So an elemental "slam" that hits 75% res for 2,000 damage would actually be hitting for 8k, and 20k armor would make that 20k/(20k+(8k*5)) = 20k/60k = 1/3 So you're taking 2/3 of that damage still, or around 5.3k. With max res, you're taking 2k. With 20k armor and 100% armor as ele, you're taking 5.3k. With 100k armor, you're STILL taking about 2.1k damage. So you'd need MORE than 100k armor and 100% armor as ele to even have better defense against a pretty big boss slam (with no damage mods) than just having 75% res. Obviously the massive health jump changes things, but it's honestly easier to have 2k health and a bunch of defense than 10k health and everything hits you like a truck. High health means life on hit, life on kill, and all that is just worse. I can map with my 2k health build cleanly because I have T1 life on kill on my gloves (77 I think) and get full health every couple packs. |

Can you share pob instead of yapping?

" Okay so this entire post is incorrect. Your character is not tank. It just has a bunch of health and thats it. Something i dont understand why people make the characters for. As they cant survive anything and you have even admitted you constantly get one shot. I think the veil/kaom folks are just holding onto "me see 10k health, me tank" This character is tanker than a 20k pure ES character ![]() And the only thing that one shots it, is arbiter cooridoor and balls. No boss or mob can one shot my character out side of those 2 attacks in the entire game. And my character is melee. Veil and kaoms arent tank items.
