So.. Optional?

I just fail to see which would be the so called "direct melee buffs". Apart from new leagues I was the most enthusiastic about the announced changes to buff melee.
The re-balance with physical damage / armor / eva / HP... affect both ranged and melee alike, so melee is still inferior to, or less viable than ranged. Unless there will be passive buffs for specific melee weapons or something?
Yes you are completely right. There is no melee buff within this patch. They are just nerfing all mobs and destroy kaoms uberness (imo the only good thing about this so called "re-balancing"). But hey, now we can faceroll with our ranged characters. ;( This is the worst "re-balancing" I can even imagine and for sure this will not bring anyone back, that quitted because there is no reason to play a melee or invite a melee into a group. From a melee point of view this patch is nothing but a keen disappointment, after they promised us some "direct melee buffs". I really believed in their words and I bet I'm not the only one out there that feels betrayed now.

Any word on The Magnate belt and how it will be changed? Should we keep ours, sell them or what?
I agree with this post, will there be any changes to the current unique? If not, it's going to be worthless after this patch.
A regular 24% phys dmg rustic sashwith max life/ES, ele resist will easily make the unique not even worth it

Substantial Rebalance
Several areas of the game have been significantly rebalanced. We've reduced all monster damage and have made corresponding reductions to player Life and Energy Shield passive skills. Physical damage nodes (both general and weapon-specific) have been substantially increased. As a result of these changes, characters rely less on life than they did previously. Defensive options such as armour are substantially stronger now, more than offsetting the lower life totals.
In response to those core changes, we've rebalanced many other areas of the game. Some examples include: Acrobatics now halves Energy Shield and Armour rather than removing them. Rustic Sashes now provide 12-24% Physical Damage instead of 3-5%. The Savant node in the Witch starting area has been changed to Elemental Dominion which gives +20 Intelligence and +20% Spell Elemental Damage. We've also addressed the power of some passive skills that were basically mandatory in previous versions.
Melee characters gain the most from these changes, but many previously underpowered builds have also improved.
The re-balance is not balanced at all... you basically killed dual claw builds that require alot of Intelligence by reducing "Savant" nodes from 30 to 20... not only that, but the so called 20% Spell Elemental Damage that is added, is USELESS to a claw weilder. NOTE: To make claw users viable, reduce the amount of intelligence required to weild them.
Reducing Monster damage and also Reducing Life / Energy Shield nodes is a stalemate... there is no difference what-so-ever, UNLESS, you increase the base DUAL defense of items (Armor + Energy Sheild type armors etc).
Increasing Rustic Sash with Physical damage is good, but there is no way I will give up a Life belt on my summoner on Hardcore.
END NOTE: I do look forward to the changes even though I disagree with some of it.

It's a lvl 16 unique.. It's not exactly supposed to be "worth it"
To the guy above my post.. They're not changing every "Savant" to the one that the witch has in her tree. All notable passives will be getting their own names, and probably new stats independent of each other.

This is going to be a tough choice, either I get my main to 90+ or play the new Anarchy league... I can't play more leagues at the same time, just want to focus on my main character. As the Anarchy/Onslaught leagues are very interesting with the new items.

Eternal Orbs are extremely rare but provide a very useful function in the crafting system.
I personally think they should be a little more rare than exalteds. The ramifications for high level crafts trans/alt/regal/exalting is huge. Much bigger than exalteds themselves.
I hope they are not any rarer than exalted. In almost 10 months of playing, I've found exactly 3 Exalted orbs, and seen 2 more drop. I know there are people that treat them penny candy, but for players who like to find their own items and craft they are already pushing the boundaries on obtaining.
I would be ok if they made them almost as rare as Exalted and then provide a reasonable recipe for exalted (vendor a stack of GCPs and a +20% skill gem of each color for example).
PoE doesn't need any more $10,000 dollar bill currencies.
I got 2 exalteds untill level 10 with a templar, then made a marauder and got another one untill lvl 5.It really depends on luck,no need playingg ages ,just playing/farming smart.
huh? so your leveling of a character to 10, and then one to 5.. was you playing smart? please explain what crafty smart things you did.
