Reset Skill Tree?

As Artyparis (and probably other people) have already mentioned there should be ONE chance per char to completely respec! When I think back to the beginning of DII there was nothing more devastating (for me personally) than accidentally spending even one-stat point the wrong way. We all know this and it should not be punished too hard (starting a new character).

Orb of Regret will help you just fine if you accidentally missclick.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
Since this seems like something some people are very much for and some people are very much against, why dont we put "full respecs" in the shops (and obviously disallow it for cutthroat and any races).

- If you think this is important for your enjoyment of the game, then you should pay.
- If you like the challenge of only using orbs of regret, and planning your build in details, then you just dont buy it in the shop.

Didnt GGG also talk about this at some point? It seems like the easiest solution, and also something that will ensure that GGG earns money and stays in business.
Just one time, before lvl 30, for ex.

In fact, I guess we wait our time. Dev don't expect to change this point.
So....
What about selling a reset scroll for lvl 30 or lower for the price of for example 150 points? By doing this, newbs will not have to worry about making mistakes early lvl. After lvl 30, it's a fair game for everybody. You still have to make your decision after lvl 30. Also, it will make GGG make money as well.
I see most of you compare how the skills were in D2 and in here. You all forget one thing tho. In D2 we didn't have a million skills and builds like in PoE. The chances to mess up your skill tree here are HUGE. One free skill tree reset would be fair imo. (at lvl 30 or so)
I'm okay with paying real money ($2-3) for a reset.. but I'd def hate the fact to have to start a new char.. the same char just because of the build.
I smell blood, something is calling me..
But whats point of skill reset before lvl30 when you can get to lvl30 very quickly.

And buying reset is pretty much p2w :)

"Very quickly" is not very objective. To some players getting to 30 WILL take time and investment (not everyone plays 8 hours a day). Especially for the very first character where people WILL make mistakes. And its also at the time where people havent committed enough to the game yet, so the chance of people just quitting, will also be higher than later on.

We are currently sacrificing the casual players on the "Alter of Hardcoreness" at the moment, and it doesnt have to be like that.

noone is sacrificing anybody on anything, if the "casual" players that make a mistake want to put those points in other places, they can do so just like a "hardcore" player can, complete the quests in game (to get respec points) and collect orb of regrets.

on another note, being able to buy respecs in the microtransaction store, would be pay to win, the kind folks at GGG have given you (us) the ability to change our build should we mess up. they have also stated NUMEROUS times that they will not put things in the store to buy that would give someone a combat advantage in game, and i think we can all agree that allowing someone to respec at will for any given content/battlefield/arena/map/etc.. is a combat advantage.

TL/DR: its fine the way it is, get used to earning what you get, and dealing with the consequences you make.
Things with "increased" and "decreased" in the tooltip are additive ... where as "More" or "Less" are multiplicative ...

1. Judging by the rest of the thread we don't all agree.
2. Respec for each map is a bit of exaggeration, nobody suggested that.

A nice middle ground would be just increasing the drop rate of the Regret Orbs.

On the other hand I don't think paid resets are pay to win they are more like pay to make you even with the Beta testers. As it is the Beta testers will have an advantage of knowing the tree which many paid to do.
