Best Support for Lightning Strike?

Was wondering what most think the best support for lightning strike is?

Lightning penetration

Tried Fork but didn't seem to do anything.

Well Fork does work with LS it's just not really effective in my opinion. Chain is also a support gem that should be mentioned.

I heard LS + LMP + Chain is pretty awesome.

I had tons of fun with LS+fork in the jan 5th race. You just need to keep all the mobs in your front to deal massive area damage, as fork will work as 2x pierce for each mob. This made the common choice of pierce skippable.

Did not try chain though.

LMP and GMP are the next possibilities.

Penetration is something.

weapon elemental damage and mana leech!

LS+ weap ele damage+lighting pen
+lmp/gmp+chain
+melee damage/attack speed/added fire damage(depends on how you play; melee damage if you want LS to deal only physical/lightning damage, or if you dont want to chain/fork/lmp etc.; attack speed if you are elemental, add for a classic physical damage build)

Single target: LS + wep elemental dmg + point blank (then if you have more sockets/stats, attack speed, lighting dmg and/or lightning pen.)
Aoe: LS + LMP + chain (then if you have more sockets/stats, attack speed, lighting dmg and/or lightning pen.)

Certainly Weapon ele damage and lighning penetration for any situation.

Than it depends - do you want to increase the potential to hit mutiple opponents in that case LMP,GMP, fork and chain are candidates.

Or do you want to max the damage of the existing hit+projectiles (the above mentioned would decrease the damage to the targets) stuff like Added Lighning damage works great (since it also gets advantages from the weapon ele damage and lightning pentration).
I am using a not so common setup (mostly when i see LS builds people prefare LMP...) on my own templar with Point blank ;) It works great if you go close and personal, but kiting will get much weaker... (i also use faster attacks to negate the negative effect of the PB support)

if you are mostly going to be hitting people in the face with it, go with point blank. Either support gem or passive.
