what does affect bleeding damage from Puncture ?

physical damage ?
projectile damage if using a bow ?

seriously the patch notes are not satisfying at all...
No details about which skill have been adjusted, no details about new DOT mechanisms...

Dat bleeding damage can be influence by:

-Damage on hit, cuz its based arround that.
-Vulnerability
Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. God is watching you.

poison from poison arrow is now influenced by projectile damage, why bleeding from puncture would not ?

also curious since i've always dreamed of making a workable build around bleed

for example, if i take the keystone/gem point blank on a bow puncture would it double dip the 50% more damage? 50% more on the initial strike damage that influences the base bleed is understandable enough but does it apply that 50% again on the DoT component? i guess i should level my overly complicated bleeder and just test it out...

Puncture is Attack, Duration, Melee, Bow

Patch note say:

"
Generic modifiers to damage dealt will now apply to damage over time that your character causes. Damage over time is not spell damage, nor attack damage, so modifiers specific to those types will not apply. Non-specific "increased damage" modifiers will apply to damage over time. Type-specific modifiers will apply as well. For example, "increased fire damage" modifiers will apply to fire damage over time.

Modifiers based on how the damage is dealt will apply as appropriate - for example, increased area damage and increased projectile damage will both apply to the poison clouds from Poison Arrow, as it fills an area and is an effect of a projectile.

So "Attack" bonuses should not increase damage.
Duration won't obviously increase damage (can increase overall damage but not DPS).

Melee is "how the damage is dealt" (damage types are Melee/Projectile).
Bow is "how the damage is dealt" also, so should work with Puncture too.

forgive me if my reading comprehension seems a bit challenged

So i guess the point blank (since it states projectile attacks as a specific tag?) example wouldn't work then. Then all those increased physical damage with bows and increased projectile damage passives should work splendidly by double dipping their effectiveness in the case of puncture DoT?

Broadstroke and rustic sashes? seems quite OP hmmm... i like this new patch

I would think increase physical would work but not increase physical with bow ( implicitely attack ). I would think that projectile damage would work too.

Magnate should work with it. Also, Vulnerability will apply its buff TWICE to puncture :D
Very happy with this change, since my puncture does 100k damage on hit.

There is a huge difference between 100k damage on hit and 100k DPS in a tooltip, for a Puncture skill.
