Can we trade Microtransaction Items to other players?

However I know most will argue that such a system would allow trading of pay items for in-game items, which is technically P2W.
Of course, there is nothing stopping people from doing that outside in-game systems anyway. Giving money via paypal and doing the trade in-game afterward. So I don't see how it'd matter.

While it is true that some people will stoop to paying other people for ingame items no matter what, they will be far fewer of them this way compared to if the trading option existed within the game itself.

This game, not TF2. That is all.

the thing is send microtransaction point to a friend can turn P2W also lol.if everyone can do it, player will use it to sell for in-game stuff.you send some of your point to someone in exchange of IN-game currency.

Yes, but where does the "It -COULD- be used for P2W" excuse stop? I understand that they don't want it to happen, but it seems restrictive in the extreme. A lot of good ideas could be shot down by that phrase.

We're not talking about maybes.
If you can trade microtransaction points/items, people WILL be buying them for ingame currency.
I could be wrong but every online game that allows those trades has the "problem" of using real money for ingame wealth.

Heres the thing though, a lot of those vanity mini pets are really only collectible if they can be traded. If you can't trade them then what's the point of buying them except that they are cute? I can understand the Kiwis not being tradeable but the NEW ones that are coming out tomorrow...?

If you could only trade a pet for a pet would it still be Pay2Win?

Edit: As the leper said to his mistress, "Wheres the bloody point?"

That is not possible. If you trade your 200 point pet for a 10 point pet, who is going to control if he isnt giving him 20 orbs for the trade ingame.

The moment one Microtransaction goody changes owners the door is open for abuse.

microtransaction goodies should remain account bound,

While that is _one_ valid perspective, it is not the _only_ one.

_Another_ valid perspective is that it would be nice to be able to buy gifts for my friends. Right now I have to log into GF's account and buy the account-bound item(s). At the end of the day the effect is the same except there is more hassle.

That fact that people _can_ abuse something is not a valid enough reason to not allow it. This is the tail wagging the dog. The 99% suffer simply because the 1% abuse it. That's not exactly fair for the majority who have to suffer from the immaturity of others.

I would _love_ to be able to gift extra tabs for my closest friends. It makes for a nice surprise.

Maybe one day the devs will have a change of heart ...
Why cant I gift a bunch of toads to my friends? I have nothing else actually to do with them. Its not fair :(

Probably never.
Too close to P2W.

RMT is still out there, but the money goes to shady players and chinese gold sellers, rather than GGG.

As someone who plays solo self-found, I don't care if other people can trade paid items for orbs or whatever, for the same reason I don't care if they trade uniques for orbs: it has zero effect on me.

If GGG is really concerned about it, an alternative to just not doing it at all is to make it a gifting option only. That is, don't let it be done via the regular "I confirm, you confirm, items swap" trade window, but by its own one-way option. Then trading for paid items remains possible, but unofficial and unsupported (and risky) - exactly the state it's in now. That way, you can still encourage giving within the community (which I see as a positive thing) and also not succumb to "we won't do this because some people will abuse it" (which I see as the logic of fear and stagnation).

You might be able to contact the support team and arrange for the micro-transaction you pay for to be applied directly to your friends account.

Not sure if it's possible & haven't heard of it being done before but the seem pretty flexible on most things so might be worth considering if it's something you really really want to do.

Technically it is possible, I'm just not sure they'll do it for everyone.
