Your League ideas

It's been said a million times but I'll just +1 it I guess.

Infinite dungeon hardcore.
Don't go crazy, just have it as a weekend 2 hour league or something. How far down and how much exp can you get in 2 hours?

Each descending level (or ascending if you have some sort of sky-themed tileset) could have increased modifiers to the monsters. +elemental damage, +speed, slowing aura, that sort of thing.
Been awhile since this thread was posted in. However, instead of creating a new thread I'd like to see more ideas players have for leagues seeing how close to open beta we are.


An idea that stems from the Heroes of Might and Magic Series and Small World: Tales & Legends event cards:

I'd like to see a long term league(if this idea is possible to do so), where the rules change every week. Where the rules are based off map mods or such, that effect/influence every area in the game.

According to the difficulty of each week, you could tie the bonus of quantity/quality to each modification like that of maps, giving a small benefit to the player in some-way.

For Example:

You might have "Week of the Goatmen" where every zone can spawn goatmen for that week as well as the zones original mobs. This would create a whole new difficulty setting for the game as some weeks could be quite hard whilst others very easy.



This could also allow the developers to throw some crazy stuff at those who participate in this league to see how they handle it. Brutus Week!

Arena Champion League

Ok this is a sort of hardcore league with a very strong competitive element. There is no level cap but there is a limited time (few days to a week?). PvP is 1v1 only. Each PvP win gives you a point, if you lose your character is removed from the league (though you can start a new character), there is (ideally) no elimination for PvE deaths. Is a race to see who can get the most points!
Langoliers League

- A Hardcore league
- A timed League
- Zones are split into Acts X Difficulty. In OBT there will 9 (3 x 3).
- Players can join the league until the first Zone drops.
- Zones will be dropped every 15mins, and all players in that zone will be eaten by the Langoliers (dropped). For example, Act 1 Normal drops after 15 mins, Act 2 Normal drops after 30 mins, Act 3 normal in 45 mins, and so on.
- The clock stops when there is only 1 zone left, and the players are ranked.
- There is gonna be a lot of running... LOL

Not sure if this has been suggested already, but how about a league that has a fixed time duration of "/played" time per character? For example, a league that has 10 hour "/played" would be a league where you can play 10 hours on any character but no more on that character. You wouldn't have to do all 10 hours at once. This type of format would be good for people like me who generally don't get enough time to play for all three hours of a race for example, but still like the idea of a race.
Not sure if it has been suggested. A league with the rule that if you die you are unable to use your character for a defined amount of time.

What about a permanent league that is kind of like a PvE version of Cut Throat. Same as current Cut Throat the only thing that is different is no open PvP, though all instances are still open so you can stalk people and steal their loot if they die. Basically means you are never truely alone, and you still get that "Cut Throat" feel over loot.

Maybe another League that adds random "map mods" to every zone. Would need to limit the amount of new instances a player could create though.
