" Yes, it does require a lot of experience, i am aware of this. What some people do is put a 6 socket weapon in their alternate weapon slot and level 6 empower gems at once. I vaal then immediately when I find them. I don't ever expect to get one to level 3 in hardcore, would rather have the level 2 right away.

" it took me 2 chars to 93 and 1 to 91 before my empower hit level 3 in ambush (full quality at the start of lvl2 and xp'd 95% of the time if i recall correctly). you highly underestimate the xp you'll need! " Exactly. If I ever got a level 3, which I know for a fact I wouldn't ever get, I would never vaal it. On the other hand, if I could skip the ludicrous amount of exp required to hit level 3 (by using a Vaal orb), I certainly would try it (since a level 2 isn't that expensive, and isn't as bad to level). I would be more likely to buy one, the exp is just too much for me. And especially if you end up dying, if in HC, that would suck.
