Yeah same problem for me curse can't work with bove doesn't it?

Both gems are linked to arcane surge, which will autocast if your "Wave of Conviction" and "Steelskin" have a higher mana cost (dont look at the mana cost of the gem itself, you need to hover over at the skill bar to get the real mana cost cause of the links its becomes higher)

ie my "Arcae Surge" has lvl 6 and got triggered at 26+ mana cost. "Steelskin" costs are 29 mana at lvl 20 and "Wave of Conviction" needs to be lvl 6+ for me.

I cant speak for peter265 or blazegen but I *think* they wondered if they need 2 separate buttons for steelskin and wave of conviction, the answer is yes unless you use cast when damage taken to trigger both at same time when taking damage, maybe im wrong and they were asking about arcane surge :P

cast when damage taken+wave of conviction+steelskin+increased duration is one way to go if wanting to press less buttons/have more automation, but this way you lose arcane surge and lose having "total control" of your buffs too.. still not bad alternative imo :p

hey im completely new to the game and at lvl 70ish now wondering why im dropping elemental overload. should i be waiting till i get the gear under the budget build section? im still on act 9 and now lvl 71
I really hate Leap Slam, and using it to proc Fortify doesn't make a ton of sense to me. Is this really necessary for survival?
i agree with above comment im having trouble switching from flame dash to leapslam

why doesnt it make sense? fortify is a buff that makes you take 20% less damage from all hits (not damage over time though) including physical/elemental/chaos damage as long as it is active, thats huge mitigation of incoming damage..

if you dont like the feel of leap slam or think its slow, then that is another thing and a personal opinion, but remember with increased attackspeed on gear + lightning golem + passive tree and maxed lvl 20 faster attacks gem support with 20 quality it feels quite smooth compared to without these things..

flame dash feels good I agree, so if you want to use it then use it, but fortify is not to be underestimated when you get to tougher content and there is a reason its recommended :P

I guess what I replied to the poster above is answer to your post too, its up to you in the end, but there is a reason 20% less damage taken from all hits is a great buff to have , and leap slam does feel a bit awkward until you have some attackspeed on gear and max level/20 quality faster attacks for example, it really does make a big difference in how smooth and quick it is!

edit: made a simple video of running from start of blood aqueducts to the end with leap slam, no extra attackspeed other than level 20/20 quality faster attacks gem, lightning golem attackspeed buff, and the nodes on passive tree that enki recommends that give attackspeed, IMO this is pretty smooth probably faster than flame dash because you dont have to worry about running out of charges and waiting for them etc:

there really is a big difference in how leap slam feels without some extra attackspeed, but if you still really hate it IDK, its up to you :P its really nice to get the fortify from it and it works well when you get used to it!

This is definitely a fun build to play and clear maps but it really lacks dps and survivability at high end tier. Especially with this new league; Metamorph and huge dps checks on Conqueror of Atlas bosses. I mean i would understand if i gave up defense for huge dps or vice versa but they both lacking. Anyways it is really a nice starter build and enjoyable. Also your in depth explanation is much appreciated. Thank you for a great guide.
Thanks for a great guide and build. It was an absolute joy to level with that guide, and mapping is also pretty smooth.

I am starting on red maps now, and wanna boost my char if possible to be able to survive and keep up with the required damage output.

Any recommendations on how to upgrade my gear? I have 3-4 ex banked up atm. Thanks :)

Update #2: "Upgraded" some of my items but I ended up losing 100hp and making my cold/lightning resist not capped out (oops) but still downing T15-T16 bosses with 3.9k hp/1.7k es.
Well, what about we use a different helmet for Sirus?
Personally I'm still getting a grasp of it, failed an awakening 3 and awakening 6 ones, my struggle is not with damage, but surviving the chaos storm phase (learning to kite them and bad timing caused me to block entrances).
