How important would you say The Agnostic is? It's nice on paper but with the big mana cost of Arc with Archmage it has put me in a lot of dangerous situations when the mana is drained and I'm unable to attack or even Flame Dash sometimes.

Would be interesting to hear what you think!

I chose not to use it. The only deviation I made from Enki's build.

To elaborate why, it was similar to you...we already have 30% buffer from mind over matter and I decided to put arcane shield on my left click for convenience. That triggers every 4 seconds.

I have 500ish ES that would be wasted and the Agnostic was putting me OOM in the worst possible times. It was a no-brainer for me and I have good mana regen 500 mana per second.
Ayman, you asked how my experience is in red maps and I have not got there yet on purpose.

I did this build in Delve League as an Elementalist and I really enjoyed the play style but it was fragile. Since then I have done mines and Cyclone.....

I decided to try this again when Enki did the switch to Necro - a class I have never played. Since I have played since 2013 I know a lot about POE and I knew that you would require all the mechanisms in place for this build to work well - it is not one you can get to red maps then optimize.

As for my experience so far since I have the basics in place? It's good, it is way more tanky than previously - the arc rework looks good and it is fun to play. But, it is way more difficult to do bosses than other builds because the burst is probably 1/3 of mines and you don't have the fortify, blind, endurance charges and damage while moving like cyclone.

I suspect that Enki will agree with my assessment.

why archmage? i bought a 23% quality lvl 20 archmage support, the dps dropped around 5% in comparison with added lighning damage.
I think I'm getting stuck in 4th time conquerors... I lost against both Warlord and Hunter (Hunter was close though). I will check now the Kitava's Thirst setup.

Plug the numbers into Enki's level 90 and with a few "upgraded" equipment gears the dps:

With Archmage: 615,652
With added lightning: 309,182 in replacement of archmage

I also got the helm enchant for another 15% archmage damage and that enchant is dirt cheap compared to the arc extra chain. Archmage also adds flat damage without a range vs the added lightning support so it is much more consistent.

Is there something in this build that allows us to remove freeze effects? I find that being frozen is a frequent problem for me when using this build, and none of the flasks we use have the suffix of Heat.

Same scenario here, tried it, did not like it at all.

Essence Extraction notable removes a random ailment when you use a mana flask. And Brine King prevents chain-freezing.
-For people who have mana problems one suggestion I have is to get as much #% mana increased regeneration rate as possible this will greatly help you. You can get this affix on your rings, wands, and amulets if you need life/resistance instead of Atziri's Foible.

-Atziri's Foible is a great unique to help you with your mana problems which is included in the guide.

-Also as for oil anointment, you can try get Dreamer anointed, sure it provides minimal Dps, but it gives the best maximum mana and mana regeneration possible at a low cost.

-Utilize your harvest crafting as you can get some pretty nice items out of it, say if you need resistance on a piece of item you can use Wild seed for fire res, Vivid seed for cold res, and Primal seed for lightning res

-Caster mod crafting from Wild seed is wonderful for crafting wands and shields. Use the life craft mod from Vivid seeds and defense craft mod from primal seed on basically everything else.

-5 links are dirty cheap this league by utilizing vivid seed and primal seeds so they are really easy to get and boost your dmg.

-Enki already included this in the guide, but try to do Chaos Recipes as much as you can, it can really give you a ton of chaos at the early stage of the game.

-There is an alternative set up for orb of storms I saw someone else use and I think its great early game, link conductivity, curse on hit, and Culling strike support to Orb of Storms, it will help you a lot on killing bosses than straight damage

Another option is to have 2 mana flask, in my opinion you do not really need to worry about posion much other than certain cases such as bosses like Hunter Al-Hezmin, the boss in lookout, and posion mods. So you can just run the of Heat flask during mapping and switch to the Curing flask for those cases.
