Actually never mind... The increased duration is probably about the trail of ice or the chill effect. Which still makes me wonder:

Why does duration matter on less Fire Damage taken, if the armor protects you anyways?

@SilverWF: I've tried all different spells for single target in a seperate 4L back in the day, but none seemed worth it. If you're good with swapping before each boss, i guess Storm Call would be the best alternative.

I'm hoping for the new channeled (laser?) spell to be in the next patch, and that it turns out a great single target solution for Arc.

@owa: Arctic Armour has two seperate durations, one for the chill when hit and one for the chilled ground you leave while moving. Quality on AA affects both durations, while it's nothing gamechanging there's no reason to skip the q20 recipe on this one.

The less phys/fire damage taken has no duration, it is either there (not moving) or gone (moving).
Blasphemy doesn't affect AA since it's not a curse, we simply link them all together so they benefit from the same Enlighten gem.

@Die: Wouldn't work well. You'd have to use a fire spell before each Arc, and will still lose out on damage due to Arcs chaining habit.

@fendius: Like Die said, you're prolly looking at DPS of your base attack, but not Arc. Your gear is on the better side of things, so no issues there.

@morbiuz666: Thanks! Sure would check out your char, but your character tab is private. Uncheck "hide character tab" in your privacy settings and i can take a look.

Oops sorry about that, okay fixed now. My gear's fairly low level I guess, probably will tide me over until I hit 80s maybe? 6 link or lightning coil would be nice but I don't have currency for those nor empower.

Thanks again, Im fairly new to the game and still learning more every day, although I feel I am only now mastering the build. I can blaze through t11 maps easily, the only thing stopping me are single bosses...

I always hope for a threesome, like on the racecourse map, chaining lightning over all three + vaal haste + orb of storms is melting faces!

i am hoping for this too :)

i started ago when ascendancy was released after a long break. Startet playing POE when it was released for maybe a year.
the first build i played when ascendancy startet was this Arc Whitch Build - and i Enjoyed it very much. i sucked hard(being good at D3 does not atomatically include you can play PoE well^^) but it was fun to play. it took me till lvl 85 to get labyrinth in Merciless done (many many deaths at the last fight) -.-

i Played several Builds since then and got more and more in the Game Mechanic and Trading and so on
for the last patch i started with BV CI Pathfinder - also much fun but it was to slow in map clearing in my opinion
so i thought lets give the good old ArcWitch a shot which brought me back to PoE :)
and what can i say? - it's fucking AMAZING and huge fun!

the only weakness this build has (in my Opinion) is killing single Target Monsters, mostly map bosses.

i would guess i invested about 2 exalts in my current Gear and i can faceroll T8 maps (don't have higher maps at the time to go higher)
The Clearspeed is amazing!

so i returned to poe,had to do quite a lot to get my char up to date(was last playing before ascendency...)
I played with pcoc (powerchargeoncrit) an have to get the feeling of casting a 2nd skill to get the charges now...
I still don*t know how you got the duration of the charges so high...
And i only got 5 charges..

i noticed most skill gem of the build are corrupted, but i don't see what it change ?

Do you think dual-wield Void Batteries would be a decent end game set-up?

I'm currently running...

I'm honestly not too sure if dual voids would actually be terrible for DPS over what I currently have.

@morbiuz666: Your stuff is quite good actually. I would first try to upgrade belt and ring with something equal with more life, then some helmet and boots with more res so you can switch gloves to Facebreakers. After that, save up for either a 6L or Vinktars.

@owa: Your gear is fine, can't see anything particularly wrong. Just switch your Seething Eternal flask with a Seething Divine, which gives more life instantly.

@Remedin: Thanks! Really nice gear you got there.

@Sleepyheadz: Hey, welcome back! You can definitely upgrade your ring and some new Facebreakers with 90% crit multi. If you don't like casting Orb of Storms to keep charges up, you can also switch Controleld Destruction with PCoC. Lower damage, but should still be enough for most content.

@gargantua0: Corrupting a gem can in best case increase a gems level or quality, but also take off a level, some quality or even change the gem to a Vaal version, if there is any.
Corruption can override the usual restriction and upgrade the gem to Lv21 or 23% quality, but only if the gem is already at Lv20 and has 20% quality at the time of corruption. After corrupting, you can't modify the gem with any currency anymore, means no GCPs, no 20% recipe and no downleveling with scour/regret.

@muredmoogle: If you invest into all 3 power charges on tree, you would end up with more DPS when fully charged with dual Void Batteries.
