Flameblast: Now grants 1% increased area damage per 1% quality (quality no longer affects ignite chance). It no longer works with Spell Echo.

Thx, GGG for destroying my build for The Awakening, RIP Flameblast.

Flameblast in 2.0 has built-in spell echo, freeing one gem slot for another damage increasing support. Definitively not RiP.

With all the ups and downs I had reading those notes over the last idk how many minutes, it was like reading the weirdest, nerdiest short story.

I loved most of them, especially where it benefited me greatly, or all of us equally.

But I wonder, what the hell ball lightning did to get a 24% damage nerf?

A lot of other skills got pretty heavy buffs and some got harder nerfs but BL just seemed weird to me. I stopped using it a while ago, but now I kinda wonder what kind of shenanigans I could have been pulling off if it needed that kind of nerf.

Can't wait to try out flame dash, though I'll probably stick with lightning warp. I already have an ice/lightning thing going, but burning ground is useful. Probably a lot more useful with flame surge.

Frost wall changes don't surprise me, but between that and enduring cry I don't really have a use for CWDT other than curses I guess.

The new arctic armour intrigues me, and I wonder if it will even do anything if you already have capped fire res, but the physical reduction will still have a use.

Previously it was cool to have it and Lioneye's Shield for projectile damage mitigation, even it it wasn't much.

The increase to armour in general is great.

I didn't really understand leech mechanics to begin with, merely whether or not it was enough to benefit me. So it will be fun to see if its still the case.

I never bothered with Torment or Bloodlines, so that will be a whole new thing.

The changes to clarity, hopefully are positive. The changes to devourers and reflect are probably everyone's favorite changes lol
More like a patch book!
Awesome work @GGG. Can't wait!

Just to clarify what Grimlocke means by this: Cast speed changed from 0.3 to 0.2 seconds.

Tornado Shot slightly buffed almost made me spill my drink.
Nerfs. Nerfs everywhere.

Introduced the Fortify buff, which is granted by the Fortify Support Gem and Vigilant Strike. This buff is designed to protect melee characters and grants 20% reduced damage taken from hits for a few seconds.

Sure it was 25%. That 5% takes it from 'might be worth it' to 'waste of gem slot'. Hits = attacks or everything in the game that isnt dot / ground effect?

Armour now protects you more than it did before (approximately 18% more protection).

A joke, with the damage increase. So much for hoping armor was going to be drastically changed.

Hook, line and sinker once again!!!!

Devourers in beta are still extremely dangerous, capable of spawning 3-4 one next to another, still enough to one-shot pretty much any build. Just now, usually one or two of them will emerge as a warning 0,5-1sec before whole packs drops on you. In general, what GGG did with this change is shift the responsibility of dying to them entirely to you, since now you get a brief warning, and it is no longer a pure mechanical issue.

With leech downgrades, reflect is quite an issue in beta. In case you are a long range, lets say, split arrow-chain build and you land a few hits on off-screen thornflesh blue pack, you die very quickly. Those packs are very rare, but this can happen if you are careless.
