Path of Exile 2.4.0: Atlas of Worlds Patch Notes

The problem with most of the people who support new nerfs is that they dont understand that it has nothing to do with balance. Was coc-discarge op? Yes. Mjoler Jugg? Op as well. But now they are dead. Like totally dead. And that's not balancing skills, that's killing builds. I mean 0,5s cooldown? 2 casts/sec? Why even bother...
I mean i'm not butthurt, but it seems that GGG can't put things in the middle - it's super op or super dead.
Did melee really get buffed?????

Perhaps after 3 years, I still don't understand this game.

Well, unless I missed something in the patch notes......looks like SRS didn't get nerfed. At least there is a new helm to look for.

The change itself balances this ascendant skill point in a more interesting way. However, it brings up a fatal problem to the coordination between the new Conflux and the current "Pendulum of Destruction" ascendant point, that these two points have the exact same cycle time (both are 10 seconds), which means there is no phase difference between the two skill points!

This is a serious problem. Being no phase difference means the two skill points will interact whatever way it is from the very beginning and then lasts forever. There are two scenarios of how the timing of both skill points work:
1) The starting points of the timers of both skills reset each time the character enter an instance. It means that the coordination between the two skills will remain the same in the whole instance.
2) The starting points of both timers are fixed at the instant of activation of the skills. This case is even worse than the first scenario because it means the coordination between the two skills are fixed forever for this character.

Neither scenario is healthy or interesting at all and should be avoid.

To solve this problem, the two skills should have different cycle times, such that the phase difference between the two can keep shifting.

While the new Conflux system seems promising, my proposal is as follows:

Change the cycle of the current Pendulum to 3 seconds in every 7 seconds.

It is a simple adjustment but will work wonders to address the above problem. The overall efficiency of the proposed Pendulum is 3/7=0.4285, which is slightly higher than the current 4/10=0.4. However, it can be seen as a compensation to the shorter buff time (3 sec instead of 4 sec). And the Pendulum cycles much faster which is more interesting. The most crucial point is that the Pendulum now has a big cycle time difference to the new Conflux cycle (7 sec against 10 sec), which means the phase difference between the two cycles will shift quickly over time.

I think in this way it brings more favor to the whole "elemental disorder" theme of the Ascendant class: "I am a master of elements but the power is so tremendous that I sometimes lose the total control of it. I MAY cause huge chill. I MAY cause huge shock. I MAY cause huge burn. I MAY even cause all in one shot. But at what point I can cause which? I have no absolute control of it. It happens when it happens. Yep. That's who I am, an elementalist, deadly and unpredictable."

I absolutely believe the proposal is a viable and necessary adjustment to the current Pendulum system and it will certainly brings more favor to the class and make it more fun. Please kindly consider it.

Side note: If possible, could GGG kindly check the RNG of my account? I have not been able to craft one single 6-socket let alone 6-link item yet since I played this game. This was not unusually and I could solve the problem by buying items from other players instead of crafting them by myself. However, since and new league is crafting-focused and I intend to enjoy the most out of it, I certainly do not want to be pissed by the bad RNG (if any) of my account. TBH I have put far too much time on this game already. It is a great game. But it does feel frustrating sometime when bad RNG keeps happening.

I actually like CoC and Discharge nerf. Maybe Blade Vortex nerf will be good too. Jugg nerf. FW abuse has fixed as well. A lot of thing to enjoy in this Patch.

Im guessing they nerfed this because of the new 4k armor? that kinda sucks and has shit stats other then the armor itself

Not at all, this is the only game I play that I experience screen tearing and fps drops that last several seconds and make the game unplayable for me to the point that I just log out when they occur, all my deaths in HC are due to these problems so I just stopped trying to play HC. BTW I just want to make it clear I'm not crying over cast on crit, I literally don't care about cast on crit or discharges changes, I just hope these performance optimizations work for me because --experimental-frame-optimizations did not improve performance for me.

that why im sad, im a casual player it took me forever to build that toon, now to build another again jesus.. the toon was not even finished yet.

like i said before if i was young with 10+h per day to play, fuck it i would not be here posting, but i dont have much time to build a powerfull char again every 3 months after the end of the league coz the community cry about nerfs when they should just ask for buffs on the skills that ppl dont play like lightning tendrils ... and other 100
