That said, I'm not sure what GGG can do if it isn't their fault - which I doubt it is. It would be a HUGE FUBAR on their part to adamantly state it's not them only to have to back-peddle. So I'm assuming they've done their homework. Maybe I shouldn't.

So what really do you think they should do (thinking big picture)?

People are so stubborn. If you got hacked, it's your fault. As outlined in the OP nobody has had their account compromised due to any sort of data breach on GGG's end.

I've used my account in a few places across the world now, use a VPN from home and have even played on public places - yet because I know what I'm doing with a computer and haven't tried using game hacks I have not (on any game ever for a matter of fact) had any account compromised. I use several email address, use certain ones for spam, create new alias' and switch accounts with important things (just like PoE) to use a new address and completely new passwords periodically. I also use a completely separate system for my banking emails.

You've either been an unfortunate victim of a scam (I've looked for builds before and come across a PoE website clone that said "you need to log in" however I have my PoE account set to remember and stay logged in, so when I saw it I was curious, opened a new tab typed Pathofexile.com and low and behold I was logged in.) or you've been trying to download hacks from places like Youtube and getting your account information stolen. Either way, it's not anyone fault but your own.

I've seen the exact same arguments and excuses from the people who have had their accounts compromised used last year when DayZ got big and loads of people were downloading fake hacks of Youtube which stole their account information. The threats of leaving, the "I'm so disappointing and upset with your company and the way you treat customers", the refund threats everything. In fact being 24 I actually have seen this happen a lot in video games. It always comes down to user incompetence.

In fact, I'd pay a grand right now just to see it happen. Because if one of the prominent, in-the-spotlight players got hit, it would prove a lot of things.

And I like seeing proof. Not enough of it lately, from either side.

Do you ignore everything you read? What you just said is another example of what I was talking about, go and look at the DayZ forums and I'll guarantee you there are a thousand posts there that say those exact words. The funny thing is I could take that line and change words to make it a statement against absolutely anything, especially other conspiracy theories like you guys and your "GGG got hacked, not me!".
