Hacked Accounts
" That doesn't mean anything. " SpyBot Search & Destroy is garbage, AVG is garbage and CCleaner doesn't remove nor block malware. Last edited by Selanmer#4881 on Mar 7, 2013, 6:48:30 AM

Is there any way to hit directly this thefts, who are selling stolen goods ? I'm not intrested about details of this kind of investigation, which could be helpful for scammers, just i'm curious if GGG support team have catched any of these parasites and blocked their small business.

6th time its happened , and only twice has it bin from china , it says a few diffarent locations in the uk also .. to be honest its a good game , but imo the website itself is hacked and thats how they get the passwords ,you will notice if you sign out with the ''remember me'' icon disabled then come back to the website , it will still have your details saved regardless...!!??

" Are you sure that your not using the browser auto save feature? Are you still using IE? because there was an option to check always save password thing. Now Chrome will ask every time you enter a new website which shouldn't be a problem. | |
" This wouldn't really be feasible for hackers to do for the GGG system. The time involved in 1) finding the city of where the owner of the email address is from, then 2) trying to find a proxy server in that city would take way to long for how much money they would make. So having them spoof the IP address like that isn't really something any one should worry about. There will always be unverified accounts, or at some point when GGG enables it, people that disable the locking option. " O.o... Not sure why you say they are garbage, they have a job to do and they do it. There is no perfect application. You already admitted that in the past you were warned Chinese IPs were trying to access your account before anything was actually stolen. The fact they found out where your live after breaking into your account the first time should be enough information to suggest you are hugely compromised and that you failed to act to protect your stuff when you were given a warning advance. It's tough that you lost your shit, but I'm kind of annoyed Chris and the other devs have to talk with people like you forever to get you to realize your own mistakes. It's not their fault. And you're wasting their time by trying to suggest it is. If GGG were hacked, they would reset ALL of our passwords immediately and ask us to change our emails and furthermore, it's likely Kripp and other celebs would lose all their shit. "If our database had been compromised, the accounts that attackers would target first would be the most wealthy players, the high profile streamers or the developers. Imagine how much it'd be worth to compromise my account? Kripparrian's? The top people on the ladder? These people have not lost their passwords."
I dont think the attackers want to harm the game by targeting big name players. targeting big name players would bring too much publicity to their actions, and make the game they make money off less popular = less money for them. Keep in mind these items are being sold back to players, so it makes sense for them to stay under the radar as much as possible to avoid hurting their own profits. |

Is it really so hard to believe that people who reuse their passwords have their accounts stolen? It's not like this is science fiction or the matrix.
To the guy who, a page ago, claimed that there was no way that hackers could have gained access to his email account, why don't you take a look at this: 450,000 Yahoo usernames and passwords compromised IGN: Blaze_Ember
