According to their site, they have almost 1 billion passwords that have been leaked through various security breaches. Of those, about 30 million email address / password combinations.

That's a good site for people to check, although mine didn't come up. Their support staff should check it on every complaint and link it though, i'm sure a majority of them are on there.

Mine didn't come up, yet I was hacked as well. I just see this as a cop out. GGG used to be for the gamer, but they've become jaded over the years now. I hate to see it like this, but they are just washing their hands of responsibility and praying they can keep their user base. It is a terrible practice and more suited to the likes of EA than GGG.

I just came back after being gone for about a month to find my gear stripped and all my high-value currencies gone. I understand the desire to preserve the integrity of the economy, but the no-restore policy definitely means anyone who gets hacked probably won't ever play again. Speaking for myself, I tried to start playing again,but just thinking of how much stuff I lost makes me sick. It'd take me a month of farming just to get back to where I was before I quit.

Also, just as a point of interest, I haven't ever been hacked in any other game, and have been playing MMO's since '95. I have current antivirus software, I don't give my login to friends, and I don't torrent things or download strange programs. Some very good gear was left behind - my summoner has no gear left on him, but his 4L unique boots sitting in his inventory unequipped. My marauder has nothing left, completely stripped. My ranger is only missing his necklace, and he's my highest character. It's pretty bizarre.

That being said, I really don't know if I'll ever play again. It just doesn't seem worth it. Maybe if a bunch of new skills get added (better than incinerate, that's not exactly a compelling 'start from scratch to try it out' skill) I'll give it another go, but most likely I'm done. No matter what new class or build I try, the dark cloud of what was stolen will just hang over me. That kinda kills the fun of farming in a farming-based game.

Anyways, good luck to everybody else. PoE is a good game, and I understand why they won't restore anything. But the damage is too high for me to keep playing.

Got hacked this week, nothing stolen though since I was online at the time and changed my password and email right away. Never been hacked in any other game before. As it stands, this one is on the game devs. The region lockout is good though, it worked well for me. But PoE had a serious lapse in security up to that point. I will not be making any purchases since I know if I can get hacked once, it can happen again. Fess up to your errors, even if its just admitting that the hackers 1 up'd you and work on making your security better and finding a way to restore any damage that was done if it was a legitimate hack.

Not weird, it's not PoE players going through your account grabbing stuff, it's probably just a bot program or some poor dude getting 10cents a week with a printout of what the valuable currency looks like.

Interesting how I get an email saying access to the game was blocked by some person in china which is weird cause like... What the hell? I actually haven't even logged into the game for like a month now since I've been preoccupied...

My account got hacked with all my high currencies and some of my gear taken as well. At least they left my 71 on hardcore not that I really care since i dont play much anymore. Still i scan my computer once or twice a week with no signs of viruses. I reformatted in January and know for sure my computer is clean. When i downloaded the new patches i had to type in my password which was suppose to be "stored" and when i did i got a message saying it was accessed from another computer and they sent a code to unlock it to my email. I never got this email when they tried to gain access to my account and i know for sure they did not have access to my email. Seems really fishy to me, definitely has to be something on GGGs side, nothing i could have done to protect my account.

I have this 2 times last month:

If you didn't just attempt to log in from a new location, then someone else has your account password! You should change it immediately which can be done on our website.

I have only 6 chaos, 9 scouring orbs and lvl 57 character so I am new in game and 2 times when I logged after this situation all in my acount was not stolen.
But I think maybe someone checking and waiting when I farmed more orbs...
So I afraid play more. My antyvirus always work 100% time (free version avast), I not downloading any programs/games from internet and no enter to bad www sities.
I thing maybe its something with my net because its from cable TV nethwork but brother told me that my IP is not possible to be Wroclaw city anyway.
So I change password again with some special fonts like #@^7& but first time I have it too and somebody login. So I have trojan/keyloger or something is with game.
