Hacked Accounts

my room mate got hacked yesterday same story , mail saying acc was accessed from china.

now i know this dude for like 4 years now , he never cheats , uses bots , or visits strange websites related to any of these things

after contacting GGG Customer support he got a reply mail which pretty much says , meh to bad you should not have tried to cheat and it even warned him that he could be banned for cheating


Now i read the forums and the BS ggg is saying about the hacking
Obviously GGG people don't know how hackers hack games

let me give you a little help GGG
1st they don't actually need to hack your system and steal password information

All they need is an email address and an altered client that will allow them to use a thing called BRUTE FORCE in which they simply inject information into the altered client.
This information would be the password
the reason the client needs to be altered is to allow the brute force program to run uninterrupted
Brute force will simply try any combination of allowed symbols ( letters numbers etc) until it hits the right one

Now my room mate pretty much gave GGG the middle finger for calling him a cheater and not actually helping him get his gear back .. its not like he had much but its the thought here that counts

so i'll probably join him in quitting POE why ?
not necessarily because my friend got hacked but more because of this:

I got hacked once in wow (same brute force attack style) it happened when my room mate was playing wow and i was playing LOL
he saw me come online and pretty much start to clear out the guild bank and stuff

so i finished my lol match , emailed blizzard CS and got my shit back 4 hrs later and the guild bank restored the next patch day ( wednesdays )
thats what i call service , no questions asked return of stuff

in the mean time GGG just tells the people who got hacked ( because of GGG's own incompetence in understanding how hackers work) that they should not have tried to cheat or bot and dl a trojan or something
again this is not how hackers work anymore
they got into some kinda poorly guarded list of email addresses probably true the website or even facebook for all we know

i mean seriously GGG ??
Are you kidding me as a company you should KNOW how bad it is to downright insult your community like that by calling victims of YOUR incompetence hackers or cheaters going as far as to include ban warnings in the reply emails?!?!
