just stood naked on the ground after Login with security code this morning. I dont know how they could do this, my Computer is a week old, how could there be a keylogger or anything else so fast. nah, impossible. i think they got my E-Mail account hacked first, and since i had the same pw as ingame... yeah. well. fuck me. All that good stuff gone...

I have admined online worlds since before graphics. When they were text only (MUDs).
I totally understand the policies and stances involved here. I understand the pros and cons of no rollbacks. I understand the problems of support. And I understand the problems of players who do not try to understand the problems. :) TO THE PLAYERS POSTING HERE: as far as I can determine the problems of hacked accounts are not a GGG problem. They have done everything demanded of admins and even abit more. Anything beyond that would impact the game itself. What is important for you to note is that YOU WERE HACKED. Rant here if you wish but after you are done being angry about it PLEASE look seriously into how it could have happened to YOU. At least 90% of the time if not more you will find that the possible access involves some habits that you should change which not only apply to this game, but to every game. In truth to everything you do on the net and plan to do in the future. In fact most of the involved issues can be generalized and applied even outside the net and into the real world. Do yourself a favor and do not try to blame it all on GGG. Please. |

My account was just striped i know how and it is the most basic easy way to do it since your email is your account name and there are no security questions used to change your password. While it isn't directly their fault it is a problem they can fix very easily. If they would just add a security question or 2 to the change password method then alot of this hacking would be gone.

In any event, I even called my email provider to check for suspicious account activity, simply because I was fairly upset about the possibility of the PoE hackers getting hold of my passphrase generator. Suffice to say they didn't and therefore didn't log into my account and didn't delete any email. There is a hole in GGGs server software... |

And yet another victim...
Logged in today and got that "Your account has been locked message". Sure enough, my stash had been cleaned out of gems and orbs. Of course I didn't really have anything in my stash to "loot" so it's more amusing to me than anything. Still, I ran through the normal post-hack routines and checked for spyware and trojans on my computer and came up clean. As this isn't exactly a "Loot Based Game" I'm wondering why people would go through the trouble to hack accounts in the first place. Oh well, off to see what kinds of trouble I can get myself into. |

Yep. I just got raped.

Got just stripped of my Gear too. Everything good is gone .... dont think they got access to my email since i can check the logs. So im wondering why i personally had to unlock my account everyday, but when i got hacked the guys did not have to??WTF
