Hacked Accounts

got hacked too today... everything is gone... didnt even get an email that someone logged in from a different location... there has to be a way to bybass that thing....

Well .. it finally happened.
After having seen my friends all get hacked, I stopped playing and figured it would happen to me sooner or later. (And I'm not replaying 2 1/2 months worth of pure Work)

I haven't been playing for a few weeks, but I just recieved an email for password change.
Which does confuse me as to how anyone would know what email I use for PoE or vice versa what account I use with my email? Ontop of that the passwords aren't the same for either of them.

Haven't been using any 3rd party soft or visited any strange sites unless you count the poeex spreadsheet. So apparently I can't keep my email secured (still that doesn't explain how anyone would know there is a PoE account tied to it as I don't keep any records, but whatever), but that is virtually impossible to do aside from using an ID card/pin code generator.

I'm too tired to even be angry or anything, I just give up.

i kind of understand the "no restoration"-policy of ggg BUT it feels so wrong if you are the person which is hacked. i have just experienced that - and i am really confident to say, that this cant be my fault. neither my family nore my friends or anyone even knows the email-adress i play from.

i didnt lose a lot worthwise cause i am a casual player. but still all my stuff is gone and all the playtime since OB-start feels like robbed. and then there comes the company that i have supported in CB with my real money and doesnt support me in that situation. not one bit? doesnt feel good.

There is something wrong with the securitysystem.

I am playing on Arch Linux with Wine. So i am 100% shure i have no trojan/keylogger or wathever on my system. I have created a new emailadress for the game. Nobody else know this new emailadress. My password in the game is different from the mail password. I don't use any kind of 3rd programs or services. And guess what, my char is now completely nude.

How can that be?

I have a few ideas.

Your email log in is visible.

Your password was cracked.

Your email + pass for POE is used on another web site that you use that was hacked. Most likely a gaming site.

Dictionary Hacking? The password is not a word. It is a combination of letters and numbers.

It's a totally new email extra created for the game. I use it only for PoE, nothing else.

Interesting i also have some ideas :)
some gut hacked your router (in some countries there a lot! of private (A/V/S)-DSL router and many of them without any security updates..)
if you use your (web-)email account without https the password can be seen
i admit i dont know if POE encrypts the login data somehow

Check your e-mail account access log. Are there any IP addresses listed that aren't yours?

If so, then people have definitely found a way to bypass GGG's security measures.

After i was hacked few hours from this post, at first i got mad, but ow i feel just sad and abit disapointed that there is no rollback on acc. Playing this game since very early closed beta, maybe didnt have the money at a time to be a suporter, but now i bought few stashed some stuffs etc ( not saying that i should be threaten different in any way becouse of that ) and haveing great time in game, at least i had before hack. Besides feeling abit sad couse of lost items/orbs/gear and whats most important -> time invested, i feel let down.
I can bring here two similar sotries : one from cabal online- friend got hacked, devs checked logs around trades party etc, - brought back ALL his items/gold in that case. Another one from diablo3 where they rolled back acc to point before hack took place or whatever.
Sorry to say that after so long time hanging around here but i just feel let down :/

My account has bean hacked and almost all my valuables taken.

I was logged out 04/26/21013 at 4:30 Greece time.
And today I logged in now 13:30.

And I see that I am missing orbs, skill gems and all my gear what happened ??

Maybe can be rollback or something

I love the game and I would love some help here to :p
