[R.I.P.] life Mjolner done right by Rico - Juggernaut version - R.I.P. thx to "balancing" policy

Mjolner fucking sucks the biggest D i have ever seen, i cant believe how far it fell from grace, if builds were rated (S) tier, vaal spark, howa etc. to (D) tier, elemental hit. Mjolner would be a big fat(E) tier, E for extinct.

The build struggles with even reasonable clear speed, DPS is totally abysmal, it struggles to leech through incoming damage and any slightly hard rolled t10+ boss is gonna wreck you. There is just no way to get around the absolute shitty proc system for the mjolner which is the entire reason it was in any way decent (for the sustain combo with kingsguard).

Here is the gear i played it with: Nearly the peak of the gear lvl you can get.

NOTE: Do not underestimate Celestial Punishment Keyston. It provides almost constant 25% MORE dmg to your Arc and very often 25% MORE dmg to your Discharge as going off with 8 endurance charges will ignite almost all regular map Bosses.


Why do u think so? Wording in game and on wiki is:
25% increased Damage against Frozen, Shocked or Ignited Enemies
@rico, this build is still viable for end game stuff right? I'm not sure as to what got nerfed in 2.5 as I haven't played since pre-beta.

Dmg increased against enemies is a single "more" dmg mod. However if theres more than one source of it they will add to each other. But overall sum will be still treated as a multiplicative to your dmg output. If someone takes 100% increased damage it doubles your total damage output.

Yes. Its not what it was but its viable up to Guardians. Build can do:

+ red maps up to T15 with very hard mods (however Core Malachai wont be deathless if mods to heavy)
+ T16 Guardians with easz mods deathless, with hard mods not deathless but doable
+ Atziri
+ Uber Izaro
+ Uber Atziri (up to Atziri herself without much of an issue, Uber Atziri herself requires lots of good timing and dodging)

Build wont be able to do Shaper.

@stormyknight post your tree and lvl that you where plaing with those items. I didnt have any issues with the build till Guardians with heavy mods.

I really think that celestial is just an ordinary 25 increased and not more. I mean additive to all increased damange sources like increased spell damage.
Also I think that you go off with 8 charges more often then you think. Because every time you crit you get endurance charges... and possibly 8.
Other then that in think this guide is so great!!!

Can you explain why you choose Repentance over a well rolled rare set of gloves? The way I'm understanding them, Iron Will is only applied to gems socketed in them. You arent running any of your damage skills in the gloves slot so neither arc,discharge,lightning strike or molten strike are recieving Iron Will.

Those are trigger skills for Discharge. One is used vs crowds (lightning strike) the other one vs single target (molten strike). However with current Discharge trigger mechanics you will be fine with just lightning strike for both as far as you have at least 3.5 attacks per sec with it.

Celestial punishment increases final dmg output done to enemies therefore it can be treated as a "more". There are other sources that does just that ("enemies take increased dmg" like shock status aligment) and those will stack additive with celestial. But not spell/ele dmg increases. For those celestial is simply a "more" multiplier as it increases final dmg that was scaled earlier by those.

Yeah. But to be honest it starts to be noticable vs Guardians, Core Malachai, Uber Atziri and T14+ with ele resistances and hp boost. Not so much vs everything else.

I hope they will adjust Mjolner in 3.0 at least to a lvl it was in 2.2. With those all performance improvements in beta to many casts per sec shouldnt be an excuse any more.
