I think I found a good equilibrium between damage and defence and won't most likely upgrade this character any more. Extremely tanky and quite honestly very decent damage as well. Most fun I've had with PoE to date.

TLDR: Very expensive to min max but well worth the investment and extremely relaxing playstyle. Able to mow down pretty much the majority of content with ease. Just run along the maps and pick up loot while everything around you dies. Suits the league mechanic Heist perfectly.

Simulacrum 20/20 - deathless
Awakener lvl 8 - deathless
Elder/shaper/Uber - deathless
Guardians - deathless
Delve - 300+ atm. Starting to encounter tanky rares at this depth.
Still cruising and going to delve as deep as I can.

Mapping - Fast (requires fairly big investment to get fast clear)
Bossng - Average, but map bosses and all guardians just basically melt.

Defenses are:

85/80/80 all res
19% chaos / 74% chaos DoT res
8.5k life (9k life and a bit more damage if you drop Soul Of Steel from the tree and spec into life nodes. I prefer +1 max res, build feels much tankier).

PoB shows 2.36mil for regular RF and Vaal RF 8.31mil.

For secondary skill I went with Flame Wall for a "set and forget". Standing still while channeling feels awful and got me into close 1-shots occasionally and I don't have that much mana to begin with. 33 unreserved mana feels just enough to satisfy shield charge, flame wall and storm brand.

Mana is tight because we are reserving basically 99% for the following auras with lvl 4 Enlighten and 15% reduced mana reserved from shield:

Malevolence, Divergent Purity of Fire, Vitality (lvl 3) and Aspect of The Spider.




Shield has a lot of potential to increase max resistances but price is not really worth it unless you have infinite currency. This shield cost me about 6-8ex

I went with the aspect on boots since I could craft life regen during any flask effect and get +0.4% regen from the catalyst. Also nabbed myself a really nice abyss jewel with Onslaught and Phasing on kill + some dmg / max life.



Gloves for life, res, dex (as much as I can) and + AoE gems. Chest I preferred +1 max res corruption over 40-50% dmg because it was significantly cheaper than the latter and I enjoy tankyness more.



Ammy with the new replica Aziris. Massive chunk of life, less requirements + life recovery. Rings for +1 endurance charge and chaos res.



Weapon was really nice purchase with bonus T1 attack speed since I can't find room for faster attacks. Others just buff RF nicely.



Helmet was the most expensive piece to upgrade to it's final form and I thikn it was 45ex when I bought it. I tried crafting it myself but trying to buy those essences in bulk is just horrific experience so I farmed the currency. Damage shoots up significantly with conc/burning dmg + % more ele. Really makes the build feel powerful.



Paired with 21/20 Vaal Rf, Awakened AoE + Ele Focus and Empower lvl 4. I went with Empower over Efficacy since I hit a comfortable 30 aoe radius with it with slightly lower dmg. Just feels nicer to have clearly bigger aoe over about 100-120k more dps.

For flasks:



Bottled Faith not necessary but I found 3 of them this league so I kept one for myself. Rest are utility/damage.

Would definitely recommend and every upgrade really takes the build closer to godhood. More you spend, more you get out of this build. :)

Hey there - on the crafting option for your helmets i wonder about one thing. that -% fire res on it appearently is a delve suffix. how did u manage to roll that on a elder based item? is it a older version were this was a elder mod or am i missing sth? thought i can not roll delve mods by essence crafting?

you could fossil craft it. i think that craft got removed? so you can only find it on items in delve now? not rly sure, but i remember crafting something similar for my ed trickster a couple off leagues back

"Adds Fire Damage" on a weapon doesnt apply to spells, so it wont impact things like storm brand. And Shield Charge doesnt use your weapon, so it also ignores that weapon modifier and will not add fire damage to it.

it may be time to come back to the next league, new crafting t0 mods, i have no idea what they are but people will find out.

i dont think essence mod craft are considered tier 0 or t1 so idk what happens to those mods

i missed harvest league, even if a gutted version returns id like to try it, plus i saw all the busted stuff u guys posted during harvest, i dont have any of it but maybe ill have access to god staff and amulet/helmets now

aura stackers have been completely gutted, so rf is now the premier build that lets u ignore mechanics ingame now.

rf is almost cheating in hiest since u cant die

my thought on this streamer is his build isnt' gonna work because inquistor ascendency is trash for rf

it feels like i am necroing a thread, 502 pages of massive info dump we took the build so far, rhah is pretty much burned out every league now lol. however this league will be new for me because i wasn't able to experience harvest. i am gonna need the og's advice on crafting lol.

Malevolence
Anomalous Malevolence now grants you and nearby allies 0.1% increased skill effect duration per 1% gem quality (from 0.5% per 1% gem quality).
Divergent Malevolence now grants you and nearby allies 0.25% increased damage with ailments per 1% gem quality (from 0.5% per 1% gem quality).

even longer vaal rf duration

Scorching Ray
Now has a base cast time of 0.25 seconds (from 0.5).
Now has a mana cost of 2 at gem level 1 (from 4), up to 5 at gem level 20 (from 11).

easier to manage the mana cost early game, i usually end up dropping the gem later on

Efficacy Support
Now requires level 8 at gem level 1 (from 31).
Now causes supported skills to deal 10% more damage over time at gem level 1 (from 15%), up to 24% at gem level 20 (no change).

no change unfortunately

chieftain ascendency nerfed for rf, dosn't seem as strong as previous rf chief.

juggernaught "slightly" buffed. 2 small nodes now provide .5% life regen each instead of stun duration lol

i think this up coming league will mostly be elementalist/deadeye.

deadeye looks busted asf

Hey Zheng,

i will be for sure back to RF this league (after playing last league some other builds).

Gonna play Jugger again (as i did now already ~ 6 leagues i think). :)

Will be very intersting to see if there will be new mods for helmet / amulet crafts for us this league.

Overall i think RF is a good way to go in a league which is heavily focusing on killing "unknown" bosse / boss combinations as usually we are able to do all content (maybe not as fast as other builds).

Thanks Zheng, I saw that vid and have been madly going over the patches to see how we did and it's looking pretty much the same. I think fortify might have had a few buffs as well from memory.

That guide whilst interesting..i am not sold on a hybrid setup.. If i am honest i came to RF from trying bulk melee builds and not getting as far as I wanted but anyway i have never played a build with anything ES at all. With the regen and endurance charges it seems really decent.

Anyway time will tell. Sorching Ray looks like it'll be much more fluid to use and much cheaper which is great!

So far I think i will play it safe with Jugg again...consolidate what i learnt last league.

seems like u might have skipped some steps in a guide or something. the rf jugg can pretty much facetank anything with endurance charges up.
There's very few steps to skip there...I still tried chars on standard, nothing changed. No idea what wasn't working then. But tried enough times. Maybe if you switch rf off, then sure, but with it on, you still get hit.
EDIT: recording a short vid with my experience. Sure, the character is not from 3.12 and no cluster jewels, it's like 3.9-3.10 league, can't remember, but the concept stays. Gear IS average, but basically, helmet is there, rings are there, shield is there. Life is average everywhere and only amulet doesn't have it. Kaom's breast too. 9 endurances. At that point, in any league, I was looking at gear that costs tens of exalts. And this was a league where Delirium wasn't a thing, now with that, I get just wiped off the screen like a smudge.
If talking about not fully juiced maps, even red, then yeah, fine. Bosses you can kill, just sometimes need to drink coffee, but everything that really matters (proper endgame), requires massive currency.

Prog for video just keeps crashing and can't save it...anyway. It dies, because if you don't kill stuff fast enough, it will kill you, simply due to share amount of mobs around.
