ALL HAIL PRESIDENT TRUMP
"Why not? Do you believe that 7:1woman ratio in Africa is naturally occurring, or the result of policy? " It's their natural reproduction strategy - high birth rates & high mortality. At least half of them would usually die, but because of foreign meddling (aka humanitarian help), all of them survive now. Which you can argue that it's a result of policy, yes, just not their policy. The current stage of capitalism is reliant on (over)consumerism & the idea of "eternal growth". Which is leading not only to environment destruction, but is rotting our societies too. You could legislate and stop people from killing themselves with food / drugs / entertainment, just not in a system where politicians are beholden to corporations who are selling that food / drugs / entertainment. Consumerism is not just buying gadgets you don't need and not giving a fuck about saving electricity - it's also intentionally ruining your health and then needing modern medicine to keep you alive. The net result is zero, you've just used up a ton of resources to fix a self-inflicted problem. That could be legislated too, just not in "human rights democracy" and "liberalism". So, until we get that illiberal system, all we can do is try to convince western people to stop living like pigs and degenerates and put economic/political pressure on the rest of the world to follow better environmental guidelines. But it's hard to argue for the latter, when the pollution in China is happening also due to western companies operating there because of cheap labour. When night falls

" I watched a few minutes livestream of the protests, skipped back a little bit. The protests clearly have nothing to do with Sessions (ergo the joke), but concerns over meddling in the “russia” investigation. Theoretically valid concern, followed by manufactured outrage and premature overreaction. At the same time, Acosta gets the boot over (imo) pure snowflake sophistry, and Trump threatens congressional democrats with investigations of their own (fingers fucking crossed). The battle lines are drawn. If dems and msm want to play dirty, well, I guess that’s why Trump got elected. Not the direction I prefer, but after years of msm lies and manipulation, fake paid rape victims, ngo funded terrorists, Kavanaugh, out-of-the-closet socialists elected, and now domestic terrorists show up and threaten Tucker Carlson’s family, I’m one step closer to saying fuck it, have at them. " So since it would be difficult for China, India ect to follow world saving environmental guidelines, we should just let the world be destroyed? That's just great. People like you are why we know manmade global warming is a hoax. If you really believed in manmade global warming, that will destroy life as we know it, you wouldn't be trying to give most of the world exemptions from world saving guidelines.
" Polticians don't believe it either. If they actually believed that we will go extinct because of climate change, they would push for more drastic change. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Morbo, you're assuming that authoritarianism is somehow necessary to stop consumerism. It isn't. We just need to stop government redistribution of wealth to addicts.

" I don't think that can work, not when you allow consumerist propaganda on every corner. You can't allow the systemic advertisement and selling of poison and then punish people who get poisoned. There isn't really much out there that counters bad behavior, on the contrary - liberalism actively encourages bad and irresponsible behavior. Hedonistic lifestyle, drugs, partying, instant gratification, short-term thinking, "free sex", dependency on government, etc... You can't sell all this to (young) people and expect them to grow up to become responsible. The bad trajectory western world is on should be really obvious by now. There aren't any societal restrictions on anything anymore. You can't even tell fatties they are fat and unhealthy, on the contrary, liberal propaganda says they are beautiful and healthy and you are a bigot for thinking otherwise. I'd usually agree with the principle "don't help people who made conscious & repetitive mistakes", but not when these mistakes are systemic and being brainwashed into the population. Liberal democracies are on the course of more governmental re-distribution, not less (even USA). So to stop consumerism in a liberal democracy, you really don't have much options, other than trying to convince the minority of people with a higher IQ & higher-agency. When night falls

" There is another possibility: the average extremist leftist lives a very comfortable life, sipping $10 coffees full of fluff and eating fancy foods and enjoying a life full of comfort and luxury. World saving environmental guidelines would most likely require everyone to live as conservatives do. Extremist leftists are probably unwilling to make the sacrifice.
" Yup, those are called champagne socialists (or caviar leftist, as we call them around here). But to be fair, there is a subset of the left, an old remnant that I have some respect for, because they walk the walk - and that's hippies. People leading simple self-sustaining lives mostly in the countryside (not to be confused with urbanite consumerist hipsters) When night falls

" You know, you would actually have to vote for those politicians. Do you really not see that this is a wordwide issue ? And that there are efforts being made to limit climate change ("stop" is not an option anymore, unfortunately). Really ? I don´t know, maybe these conversations here just consist of trolls who think all of this is just funny. Unbelievable There are no "exemptions", there is just a realistic approach. Giving poor countries financial support to change is the only real option I see. P.S.: Scientists > politrickcians Actually I think constitutions should include some sort of a scientific consultant committee now, would be something new.
