Tencent has Invested in Grinding Gear Games

See, you guys sold out. No more support from me, ever. This game will die soon because majority stake holders ALWAYS change the direction of a product and/or service.

I'm not supporting Chinese anything. They cheese everything they touch into crap. Absolute crap.
Signed in 1st of June 2012 (because of really crap D3) .. played and really enjoyed closed beta .. let the game be and evolve on its own knowing this will be great some day in the future .. came back here and now to see this post.
Ya fk this game, no point in playing Incursion now.

I hope everyone is super pumped about getting 10 atlas map charges per day a year from now, after 10 maps youll have to pay additional real life money to run more.

calm down exiles,

, games dying and new games are made.

We spend a lot of hours in this game. Nice memories, let game go. Stop playing, find another game and remember old Poe. RIP POE (2013-2018)
is there a reason to have them investment other than money for chris etc ? im no financial investment expert, but monet seems the obvious answer. And if true, how long till chris steps down as lead on POE
I will not buy any more supporter packs for at least 1 to 2 years.
If the game is still good then, you will have my support back.
Doesn't matter what you say.
why do i feel sick all of a sudden
Can't think of a better time for Blizz to release remastered d2.
I do not know how to feel about this. on one hand financial security is cool and all..

On the other hand....Tencent......oh....no...

Of all the companies.. Tencent is the only one from Asia with a reputation as tarnished as Electronic Arts.

My guess is that things will be fine in the short term but some way down the line things are going to get prickly

"Tencent has Invested in Grinding Gear Games"

Even the title of this thread makes me feel Chris Wilson is kidding himself or trying to blow smoke up the ass of the POE community.

The title of this thread no matter HOW you feel about the issue should be:

"Tencent now owns Grinding Gear Games"

Wording it as he did makes me feel that Chris has either got some serious wishful thinking going on or he's trying to manipulate public reaction by spinning his new lack of ownership of his former company into a mere "investment".

BTW I never have a problem supporting a good game, but GGG was crowd funded into what it is, and then sold.

I will never support a crowd funded game again, though I might try my own hand at getting a bunch of naive gamers to invest in an indy game and then make a shit load of money by selling it to a big corp.

Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.
