I've never heard of Tencent before, but after reading the posts in this thread, I am genuinely concerned about the future of this game. Please GGG, be careful. This is one of the best games I've played, besides Diablo 2 and M&B: Warband. I would hate to see it go away.

From a business perspective, this sale of GGG means Chris, and the other owners believe the company has hit peak market value. Its the same reason Riot, and other gaming companies have sold out to Tencent. The sale allows owners to get their payday and plan their retirement, while still continuing develop on the platform. PoE isn't dead, yet. Its still got a few good years in it... If nothing else PoE has proved a small company can make a great action RPG and get support from its user base to become financially viable. The dream will live on in another game, someday. |

First time im legit against a decision by GGG, Tencent is known to drive games into the ground, im surprised at how blind GGG has been regarding how many times Tencent has been sued over the past decade of investing into a game and then driving it into the ground with making changes to the game.
Most likely not investing into more supporter packs due to this. Been a good 5 years, but i sadly see the end approaching very quickly after this. |

Because it's capitalism, baby. Capitalists always lie. This game will die a ugly death, but Chris and Co won't give a fuck. They will be kickin' on the Caribian, thinking their Chinise uncle Marsellus was right. This is a product after all. Made for making money, but not to achieve something great. |
