[New Support Gem] Armour Penetration

This would help make fast-hitting physical attackers, like physical rangers and Cyclone users, more viable, as they are effected by Armour the most.

previous versions

=====================================================================
* Green, dexterity based support gem -- it is meant to support rapid physical strikes, the exact kind that are generally hit hardest by armour. Dex requirement ranges from 42 for level 1 to 108 for level 20, just like Cold Penetration.
* Available at level 24, just like elemental penetration gems.
* 150% cost multiplier, just like the elemental penetration gems.
* 16-35% "penetrates x% physical damage mitigation" based on gem level, just like the elemental penetration gems. How this works: if you're PvPing against crazy armour-stacking guy who has 95% physical damage mitigation because he's somehow stacked endurance charges against you, at level 15 you'd penetrate 30%, knocking him down to 65% physical damage mitigation.
* Despite its name, it's also effective against targets with zero armour, the exact same way the elemental penetration gems work against targets with zero resistance.
* Each point of quality would add 0.5% more physical damage.

+1 Great idea.

You have my +1.

AND MY AXE
A smart idea, indeed. I like all parts of it and it would be easy to implement.

(Then again, in my opinion this should be a passive feature ON daggers, claws and foil-weaopns without spending another support gem. Or a passive talent near the center of the tree.)

Keep up the good work! Make us fall for melee again.

Daggers are meant to also be caster weapons, so the bonus doesn't really fit there.

The weapon it would fit most on is swords. Swords already have a passive theme of bypassing block chance, so bypassing armour would fit in. I think it would be cool if the sword notable in the Duelist area, Deft Blade, had some physical mitigation penetration instead of the increased melee damage, while keeping the 15% reduction to enemy block chance.

And I'll take the time to say I wish more forums ranked and threaded like reddit.

And i really don´t see any logic behind having daggers branded as a caster weapon to begin with :D. But on this one you are right. My idea was more like adding chaos/bleeding dmg to these weapons, but that is not the point here. And swords are mainly heavy hitting weapons with an option to stab, so "bypassing" armor would be possible with 1) small and quick stabbing blades or 2) really heavy hitting mass (2h stuff) which cracks armor (viewed from a realistic side).

I like any improvements on melee and your concept is an improvement.
Actually i believe knights always brought a roundel dagger into combat for penetrating the chainmail worn under the platemail. They would simply slide it between the plates of armor to pierce the chain.
Halberds and various pointed weapons were also used to puncture toughly armored opponents. It has to deal the the application of force into a tiny surface area.
And believe it or not, crossbows could penetrate armor. (saw it on myth busters)
For years i searched for deep truths. A thousand revelations. At the very edge...the ability to think itself dissolves away.Thinking in human language is the problem. Any separation from 'the whole truth' is incomplete. My incomplete concepts may add to your 'whole truth', accept it or think about it

Need no sissy's dagger for that. You can achieve the same result with half swording or pommel strikes, given proper training.
Please pardon my bad english
