0.10.3c Patch Notes

That lack of a timer makes it very difficult to judge how long you have to grab that item, and if you need to rush over to it or not. I'd prefer if the timer was back.
Every group I play with, I play with because we all respect loot to name. I didn't like the play style of having 5 party members standing around my portal and wisdom scrolls. Now that we can't appropriately distribute the loot I wonder if it will be back to that.

Names should be displayed in the items again. This is going to be a big problem for party races.

This. In all honesty being able to see the name is a plus.

Thank you for finally doing something about the loot system.

I'd still like you to address the ability to block other players by standing on loot, though.

I do agree that needs addressing. We want there to be tension around the drops, but agree that players shouldn't be able to physically deny the drops in that way.

Removing the name from allocated items will result in confusion for groups that want to respect allocation even after the timer expires. Do you want there to be confusion around the drops as well as tension?

Not everyone enjoys the same loot mechanics as you. Frankly, competitive loot is turning me off the game, since in large groups getting drops first is more dependent on latency, resolution, and computer hardware than attentiveness and reaction time. I've tested this myself on different systems, adjusting network traffic to simulate better/worse latency.

If broad audience appeal is at all a goal, you have to respect the fact that a very significant number of players do not want tension around drops. Please empower your fanbase to create groups using a loot option that everyone in the group wants.
Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client.
I actually have to agree that having names is very useful, as well, along with a timer.
I like that blues have been removed from timers, but without the name displaying right now its making private map groups slightly confusing. Wouldn't hurt to have an option for that returning at least.
Me and my two friends are having a hard time now.

One person sees a faded out item drop, while other two off screen. He normally says "Blitz chaos on the ground" but now its...someones chaos on ground whose is it?

Well said.
How about having the timer integrated with the name? So the name is superimposed on a bar that runs out like Monster health bars?

On the other hand removing names wont affect 90% of people since most pub parties wont give stuff back anyway. (and theres no rep system)

I want names back, I don't feel like listen to people arguing over currency. Put the names back for the other people would be fine.
