0.10.3c Patch Notes

I understand why you have done this and for the most part its better
and for myself and my groups its not we like to spread the loot fairly so when it has no name on the item ever its too confusing as to how we split the loot up.

i beg you please bring back the named loot(and even still keep the names permenant)
some groups play by some rules some groups play by others but allowing the named items to dhow gives more options to share loot in a more fair(and fun) way without filling ripped off

After you've tried out the new patch, we'd like to hear:

  • Was it easier to read what items drop now that fewer are allocated and the size of the item hovers doesn't change?
  • Does the increased allocation duration help enough in terms of being able to grab items in time assuming you react quickly?

Ok I haven't played long yet, but did a Fellshrine group soon after patch. First impressions:

* Definitely feels simpler, and that's a good thing.
* A bit weird not to see name, but I suppose it's implicit for the allocated items, you know it's yours if it just dropped.

I haven't been able to get a feel for the increased timer yet, but overall to me it does feel like an improvement.

I *think* it's better like this without the timer. I always thought when it first came out that it was very cluttered seeing all those timer bars but we just got used to it.

Some people will still be pissed that they didn't get their loot in time, but overall I think the experience is better, which less emphasis on the "ownership".

As for "no ninja" groups actually I'm not sure it's problematic. You can still agree with others to not rush to items if you want to. If you see someone rush to yours you can *sometimes* tell if someone grabbed it and politely ask to give it back.

To those that say it will slow down groups I think that's not the case. The 2.6sec base duration is still quite short. Even with awesome DPS most groups take 2-3 sec per pack of mobs in Fellshrine, likely more in Maps unless your name is Kripp ;)

TLDR So far, so good. Feels better to me.
extended time definitly could do to be longer still, got a good gem ninjed from me already.
So far it has not slowed down groups at all.

Maybe they should consider 10 second timer for unique items and rare gems and leave the rest low.

If they want more room why not have an option to show all items except white and blue?

Names was good, timer was good, just get rid of all the annoying blue and white items filling up my screen.

They could even have a button assigned to this, like z for show all items and x for hide blue and white.

Can someone explain to me why we dont have individual loot?I got 10 blues 1 rare 1 curency and 1 map or whatever, you got 15 blues and bla bla everyone see the loot they have in a different screen and not mine or 50 items at 1 time.Make the loot individual like in any normal game...You give us more loot and more exp in party to be more social and play with others but on the other hand you have this crap loot system that makes you stay away from party.I really dont understand why we dont have individual loot. And everyone that is not agree or doesnt want this they just like stealing other players loot.Taking advantage of a new player that doesnt know the items or loot or any other reason. Not some idiot running in front of party and opening all the chests they find only to steal everything they want/can/like.Or running alone in other area with enough dps to kill things fast to steal the loot from the other 5.Stupid system nothing else i can say....

There isn't any stealing of loot because the loot is not yours. It's as simple as that.
No more player names and timers, I like this change. It'll mean less people whining about "my" loot and more people going for loot before it gets made FFA.

You don't own the loot when it drops, you never have. You only own the timer that allocates it to you for a short amount of time, and these changes make that clear.

How the hell it's not mine when it had my name on it?Ye now it will be free for all loot in any party. Now you can say it's no one's loot.Even worst
This change would be great for public parties, like docks runs, etc.

However, in groups of friends where you do loot to name...

1) You don't know if the item is yours or if someone else's grayed out item just became visible
2) You can't call out in voice chat "Hey this is X's or Y's" which is extremely common among groups of map runners
3) It's actually not easier to see and you don't know how long you have to pick it up or if you even should in a group of friends

There are many more reasons I haven't named, but overall I feel like this is the first negative change I've seen come out for this game and I for one would like it reverted (except for the increased timers, those are great)

It is definitely better in public runs where you ninja everything you can etc, but when playing in map groups with friends, this is a very negative change.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
Jeff

The point with "no ninja" groups is to find like minded individuals who prefer not to rush other people's loot. I don't think it's to make methodical bookkeeping of what drops for whom. There is always going to be some margin of error, and some people who don't play by the rules.

In the latter case, it's better that there is less information than more, as the player names caused a lot of unnecessary drama.

Now if someone grabs your loot in a "no ninja" group you can at least ask for it politely and hope the other person will be a gentleman. You may see who grabbed the loot sometimes, but often times really it's not that easy. And some people who are too uptight about "no ninja" groups I found are pretty lousy party leaders as they kick people without any clue who actually "stole" something. As a melee this happened twice to me recently, I suspect those party leaders also somehow judge that melees are the ones stealing because they're closer to the mobs... huh.

Really "bookkeeping" of the drops is bad for everyone. It slows down the game and creates lots of tension.

This patch from GGG is interesting. It uses one type of design where you hide information overload. It may feel like you lost info now, but overall it's for the better I think.

"It's no one's loot" is exactly what GGG are going for.

You don't own the loot, you own the chance to get the loot first.

If you miss that chance then it's free for all.
Well as of now I don't really care for the loot system how it was. I can't comment on the new patch and loot system because I am one of the many people that are getting the computer crashes on the log in screen or after 1-2 mins of having it launched. Why isn't this patch correcting the bigger issues over loot system that no matter what you do to it people WILL NOT all agree on. Instead you choose to ignore the posts and all the info sent in by the many people who can't even play your game to cater to the ones you will not make happy. Game is great, support is lacking. Really wish there was at least an acknowledgement of the issue.

Ps- For all of you who have replied that it is dust bunnies that are causing a mass "overheating attack" on all the computers that are having this issue, please stop replying. You are useless. Most of the people that are having the issues don't go over 45-50 c if you actually read their posts. Fix the real issues please. Desync, lag spikes, servers in general, computer crashes, programming, etc. (Don't get me wrong, I do really like the game and that is why I'm trying to get more light on these matters.
