Multistrike kills Double Strike

From the post I read on Exilepro.com Multistrike hits 3 times, different targets IF ABLE. If not it hits the same 3 times.

So this makes double strike pointless. Naturally I haven't seen it in action yet but this was the biggest concern that popped into my head. A concern because it just means that we start making skills obsolete.

Was almost started with Cyclone vs Whirling blades... almost.

But if you use double strike with multi-strike, you will hit a target with double strike 3 times. Remember, multi-strike is a support.

it's a support skill, not a skill
so you can use both of them together :)

This.I must admit though I read it like it was a skill gem at first but backtracked when I remembered they said 3 new 'support' gems.

Double Strike plus Multi Strike would only hit 4 times, right? Multi Strike just adds two more hits, unless I am mistaken. It wouldn't make Double Strike obsolete as Multi Strike has a damage penalty to it.

it doesnt exactly add hits to the skill linked, it preforms the skill 3 times in quick succession, and with quicker speed. so that's 6 hits with double strike+multi

But if Double Strike hits twice, and Multistrike causes you to attack three times because Why, which will add in two more attacks with What, by the time Tomorrow comes around, and I Don't Know how many Double swings come out... then by the end of Today, Who's on first, and What's the amount of attacks made - Naturally.

I personally can't wait to use Double Strike supported by Multistrike to relive my Zealot days.

Although I must admit my head glazed over the fact it was a support not a skill ... having a triple attack of other skills over adding it to double strike I fear still might make double obsolete. But if it is in fact 6 "strikes" then I will be completely wrong. The melee support gems I feel will be the big help melee needed over Cyclone.
