Sadly, it doesn't work, because when it's cast by the apple, the Valako effect of +1 charge per sec is not being triggered, so all it does is giving one charge, then the rest need to be built up (VERY) slowly via chance to gain.
Hello again, it's been a while! Believe it or not, I am still playing the same RF build, trying to scale it as much as possible.
Currently sitting at 3.9M shaper dps. I am looking for some advice to boost the dmg even more. Not sure how much can be gathered from my profile so here's my POB fork code: https://pastebin.com/hXVHHJaL .
Right now the last three things I can think about are crafting +5 staff (with Empower my current one works as +7 and +5 staff would give me +8 so I don't think it's worth the trouble seeing how hard it would be to craft +5), recrafting vermillion ring for additional 17% fire damage (or even swapping it for opal for 30% ele, but i'm not sure I wanna lose more life) and crafting Warlord-Hunter gloves for 30% damage over time. Do you see anything else? Did I maybe miss some useful mods?
Care take a look at my build? Can do Tier 5 easily, haven't tried higher maps though. How can I improve damage? Also have problem killing AL Hizman, any suggestion?
You either have to link your POB or make your characters public, there's no way to check anything otherwise.
For starting out this build in SSF, I did make a Templar, but took him only as far as the medicine chest. That got me Purifying Flame and Arcane Surge Gems. (All the flasks were a bonus.) The Marauder gets Onslaught from the medicine chest quest, which can also support Purifying Flame.
The Marauder can also buy Holy Flame Totem, which fits in well with the build.
The other thing to do early on is *shop*. It's common to look for movement speed boots in case you don't get the currency for the quicksilver recipe. But for this build, at early levels wands, sceptres and spirit shields with +1 to all Fire skill gems or +1 to all Physical skill gems are not uncommon.
Purifying Flame and Holy Fire Totem are Fire/Physical skills so can benefit from both +1 Fire and +1 Physical.
In fact Nessa sold me both of these in Harvest SSF:
Leveling with Purifying Flame and Holy Flame Totem went smoothly on 3/4 links. I did allocate a +30 Intelligence node which I later respecced. My damage fizzled out right when Righteous Fire became sustainable.
The only real snag was meeting Alva - I would have been happier if I'd just skipped all Incursion encounters before maps.
Awesome levelling information CelticHound! Great suggestions! Thanks!

Thanks for unlocking your character jamie_4_1_0. I was able to take a look at your character and it's a simple case of total life. Right now it looks like you're running under 4000 life which isn't enough to carry you past yellow maps with RF. The life rolls on your gear are ok but will need to be higher as you find the gear to replace them over time. It seems like your tree pathing was pretty offensive. Saving life until the end of the levelling process has its pros and cons so I hope it works out. So in terms of Al-Hazim, having low life and having low Chaos Resist is going to make the battle tough. Try and stay close to him, but on his backside. Always keep moving when on the outside platform or the snakes will get you. And always be on the opposite platform of the snakes to avoid the chaos pools. But staying on his backside until you get more life will help.
In terms of damage, whenever you find a 5 link, that'll obviously help. Also, level up Curse on Hit and Flammability to gem level 20. They won't trigger as designed on a low level in that link.
I hope that helps!

Hi Wrecker! Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions! :)

If you watch any of my play sessions with this build, you'll see Ball Lightning going off ALL the time. It also doesn't have a limit to how many enemies it hits while Arc only hits 7 enemies I think? But then, that's not really an issue because we only really care about the bosses anyway.
I guess I'm going back to Ball Lightning now and see how it feels. Now that I'm mapping the Vaal Arc doesn't really make much difference other than applying the curse but then that should happen anyway as Vall Cyclone hits incoming trash. I just like to experiment with stuff. :)

Increasing Fire, Elemental, and DOT all apply to RF damage. DOT Multipliers are the strongest of the mods for sure.

We don't want to add fire damage to our Spells or Attacks.
I think these weren't mentioned in the guide, or did I just miss them? In the former case they may worth the addition - in the latter, my bad.
Speaking of them tho, got some really nice gear lately:

Found and enchanted this beauty:
Cold and Lightning for Cyclone, and lots of Ele/Fire dmg :)
Also traded this amulet with +1 to Minimum Endurance Charges and lots of Life:
Then found this head which gives a significant boost to Life and Life Regen:
(Tho I feel I could get more out of a Rare with some crafting and lucky rolls.)
I'm pretty happy with these now!
Speaking of gear, I'm thinking about two things now:
1; Anointment. One thing I'm considering is to allocate Elemental Equilibrium this way, and have some more Int on gear and then so I'm saving 4 passive points that could go into Cluster Jewel for example. Or do you think there is something more useful to allocate via Anointment?
2; I've just found this and I want to try it:
This sounds like it would synergize perfectly with the mechanic of gaining and losing charges using Enduring Cry, but I have two fears: That I may reach max charges and lose them faster than the cooldown of the cry, even with the reduction, and that I would end up not being able to cry manually when I need that sudden burst of Life to save my ass.
And finally a suggestion: While the build is not depending on specific gear, there are obviously certain types of items and Uniques that benefit it much more than most. It would be really nice to have a section added with a bunch of these to look out for, especially for us multiplayer folks because we may be able to get them via trading relatively early. And generally, any advice on choosing gear you think may be useful for people - especially noobs like myself.

Or do you think there is something more useful to allocate via Anointment? So those really big nodes on the tree are called Keystones. And Keystones can't be anointed. Notables can. Notables are the middle-sized nodes. So something like "Entropy" or "Growth and Decay" would be good examples/suggestions. You have the right idea in saving nodes though! That's really good! Unfortunately, EE just isn't a crafting option.

I do like my guides to be more of a "guide" though instead of a "walkthrough" which is why I let the reader do their own research for uniques. One BIG reason that I don't list uniques though is that every league, GGG modifies an insane amount of uniques. Sometimes the changes are minor, sometimes the changes are huge. To have to scour that list each league, for each guide, along with adding the moderately useful and very useful uniques would take a massive amount of time. But more importantly, it would take away from the SSF aspect of the guide. Trade people have a wiki which is really easy to "CTRL-F" for "Endurance", "regen", "Damage Over Time"...and as you do that, you'll see the insane amount of options that each build has, along with how huge the list of helpful uniques would be.
It's honestly a great suggestion! It's just something I've personally, after lots of thought, decided to exclude from my guides. I've found that putting the learning curve at the beginning of someone's PoE career quite helpful for those that end up sticking around long-term.
Great post and suggestions!

I'm in a quandary now. This dropped in SSF, so I feel obliged to use it:
I have Righteous Fire and Purity of Fire in my staff, so my current armour has Cyclone/Inspiration/Fortify/Enduring Cry in a four link and Malevolence and Leap Slam in other sockets.
Compared to my current body armour (58 life) it gives me 21% more life. I also have an armour with 122 life that I need to give sockets. Kaom's Heart would still be 18% more life than that.
The higher life basically makes up for Malevolence (20% more damage over time). An unset ring could also work, and if it had +2 gem levels, it would make Malevolence 21% more damage over time.
A belt with Elder influence can grant a level 22 Enduring cry skill. (It can also grant increased life recovery.)
Having 20% more life is essentially the same as Fortify's 20% less damage from hits.
That leaves Cyclone, the Inspiration charges, and hitting so the Holy Relic triggers.
HA ha! Nice find! CelticHound! The "bane" of this build has just dropped for you. What to do, what to do...

this is the item that I meant (with 4% life regen on kill)
and for someone who does not know how to trade, I'm happy recently got this shield. +5% max fire resist. :D
thank you @stormhun for the info how to attach item
Great items Hansen_Haryono! Getting the 4% on Kill mod makes clearing maps so fun. Your life sky rockets! And awesome find on the shield! That's a perfect fit for the build.
I forgot to answer your question about passive nodes. One node that's a pain to get is an Act 1/2 quest. It's an Act 1 quest that gets completed in Act 2, but then you have to go back to Act 1 to turn it in. The Way Forward I think it's called? Sometimes people makes mistakes with the Bandits as well.
Have you double-checked this link https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Passive_skill#Passive_skill_points_as_quest_rewards? The only passives that can be missed are campaign-related. So I'm not sure what else it would be. I hope this helps.

I don't think I'm worthy to comment on your gear HDVision! Your gear is superior to any gear I will ever get on my build ;). Even your Opal ring that you're trying to replace is amazing. Everything you have is a dream! I don't think you've missed anything. I think the only changes you can make are simply changing one awesome influenced mod for another! Nice job!
