Content Update 3.13.0 -- Path of Exile: Echoes of the Atlas

Like everybody, I was really excited for new league.
We all watched the trailer reveal on twitch and heard about 40 gem changes.
It's all pretty shit and everybody is bummed out!

You will lose some players for sure! Good job!

I will say, it feels like useful aura quality has been killed for every single spec other than aura stackers, just to keep a cap on aura stackers.

I mean when an aura stacker can turn 1% into 6%, the problem is the aura stacker...

But for every single other build you've just turned those alternate quality auras into non-quality quality gems plus ~1%. You might as well have just removed the gem variants in question.

This.

It's absolutely ridiculous that they nerfed each individual aura gem instead of nerfing stacking. All they had to do is decrease by a percentage each aura effect when two or more are stacked. Instead, they nerfed ALL aura gems and made them fubar.

Absolutely ridiculous. Poor planning and poor execution. I suppose it's to be expected from GGG but this is one series of nerfs they absolutely need to reverse.

Mindboggling.

Well, they got a point here. The altermate quality (other than aoe which would only be a thing if this was RPG with serious BIG party play) would have been a nice thing for existing characters. It's still alternative....but now, it doesn't really make a difference.

I can understand that a fast and sensational playstyle with high damage, constant movement, etc. is far better for a game especially in case of marketing and advertising.
A tank playstyle where monsters can't do a thing against you but it takes ages to kill a boss does look lame in coparison to meta builds.
But the nerfs don't really hit the critical spot & the collateral damage for all the other player, who were just looking forward to a little improvement, is not justified by the little effect it really has.
I remember the time when there was only purity of elements which gave all max resistance then. The aura lost the max resi and the three other where introduced. If you wanted max resi you had to reserve more mana/life...
Felt bad that time, but meanwhile it's okay.
If aurastacking is still that much of a problem, there are other ways to limit the number of active auras. So you can keep there power level for those who just run a few number.
Processing tuned down tempest shield MTX [pending...]
Time to skip league.

I understand that Aura Stackers and some minion builds were OP, and that the objective was to add more dificulty/diversity until you reach the final encounters without instantly destroying all the content. But nerfing removes options (different than what GGG advertises on wanting all builds to be viable, especialy in a league that is expected to turn late game content a real challenge even for experienced players).
You could only buff the skills you want to be seen played more often, and raise the minion/bosses difficult on late game overall, but nerfing specific builds removes options, in builds that already take a lot of time and currency (already overpriced by the meta) to get to that states.

So i can see some reasons why this is not a good approach:
1 - Players are more and more forced to play builds that GGG wants to see (ex.: Scorching ray) instead of users being able to choose based on their preferences, and i normally tested different builds between different leagues, just not the ones i am TOLD to.
2 - The "balancing" you do affects always the same group of people. Currency flippers, 3rd party currency site buyers and a few others will always dodge this nerfs and manage a way of influence the market/economy in a way that 80% (i would say) of the players will never be able to evolve/succeed or consider trying specific builds.

This is supposed to be a fun Sand Box ARPG where you want to go all GodMode, not a turn-based game with limited options. Also, is there any ranking system ingame that would require such adjustments that i am not aware? I think not...

To end, if after all this "balances" you don't manage to have a stable league, PoE is done.
Hype!! Still do your best! Thanks for all
I really hope that GGG will stick with the changes this time and don't change anything major in patch a week from league start like they did in Heist and remove some of the features due to backlash on reddit.

For me heist had more character/feeling to it at the start of the league than after all the changes (it did have issues though, which they fixed) and I hope this league (along with buffs/nerfs and maven) will have something special about it too.

Hehe, love it how they hyped the situation up
just so they can nerf everything and try to get away with it!

This game has been dead for me for the last 6 months,
after almost 7 years of playing!
It has been for most of the people i used to map with..

Wont be long till people run away from this "Balanced" game...
there's still 2 days left

you constantly hear players claim they could make more impactful changes to gems in 10 minutes, prove to them that you can do better. you're at 5/40 already

Why you completely KILL Glagiator?
Minus 1 node 40% Inc Damage
Minus 1 node 30% inc Damage against bleeding targets ?
WTF?
-70% of the damage with bleeding build

I think a lot of the outrage comes from misunderstanding game mechanics and calculations. These changes won't make you do 70% less dmg.
Heh. Another Icestorm kill update.
I was silenced for telling the name of USA president for 40 days.
I was silenced for stating "I am Jesus" for 5 days.
Maybe it is time the deeds of the moderators to become public, so peoples understand that they hired a cheap mods which enforcing their "woke" agenda on players.
