We didn't "notice" it. That is like saying the ocean is a little wet.
GGG did it right in front of everyone. It was utterly brazen. They didn't apologise because they got caught. They apologised because they were surprised at how angry people got at being shown that a big pile of money means more than staying true to their morals. They apologised for the worst, least reassuring reason: because they had to. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

" This isn't and you're remembering correctly. It was a little shitty to be frozen on the Twilight Strand and seeing "[Streamer] is the first to enter [Whatever]". Part of me thinks that is what spawned the queue to help hide it. It really doesn't matter since practically all of us are not competitive in any real way, but it still was a bad look. Hopefully having a huge spotlight on it this league finally puts it to rest. Though if I'm being completely honest, I don't particularly care. They're significantly better than me and being first (or 10,000th for that matter) at anything in the game isn't going to happen for me. Thanks for all the fish!

The root of the problem is the underwhelming 1st day queue experience that everyone is familiar with. It is an old tradition by now since years.
As long the hamster wheels run out of steam on day one this incident may happen again but in a less awkward & obvious way i assume. But it will happen to avoid watching streamers chilling for hours in queue after league start. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

There are tens of thousands of people watching streams at league start & everyone streams themselves in the queue, why has nobody ever said "OMG I was watching streamer SunlightDodger69 streaming league start and suddenly they jumped from position X and got straight into the game!!!". People noticed it happening this league, why didn't they notice it if it happened in past leagues? |
