[3.15 WIP] Saboteur Crit BL Mines (Life League-start/SSF to Budget LL ES All Content Viable)
" Thanks for clarification, my mistake. I’m glad more discussion is coming from the comments so we can weed out the misinformation whether it be attributed to rushing to finish content before the launch or just plain mistakes on my part. " You’re correct and it’s quite embarrassing because I literally just fixed mistakingly having Swift Assembly in the same spot with the same error. Making edits this morning to make sure everything is functioning correctly, the simple solution is to make the transition to BL later which will also solve some potential mana issues due to the multiplier changes on supports and BL having a much higher base mana cost. It’ll be very tough to use Inspiration while leveling so that option is not realistic until a little later in the acts or mapping start when you have more options. This is actually good in another regard as well because I personally much prefer Swift Assembly to Minefield, especially before you have more sources of increased mine throwing speed as the latter locks you in animation and reduced your ability to move and avoid things. My apologies again for the mistakes, I’ve spent every minute I’ve had of free time focusing on the actual guide which has led to transitioning my reference from Pyroclast to BL rougher than it would need to be with time to properly test the leveling process. I can assure you, though, that Stormblast Mine will be quite an effective leveling option until we can get BL online which now just requires you to have a 4-link (BBGG, BL + High-Impact Mines + Swift Assembly + Slower Projectiles) and most likely to drop HoT. The guide will now recommend waiting until act 10 after merciless Lab so we can take advantage of Bomb Specialist and how great it is for BL in particular without sacrificing our much needed (even more so now) defensive layers of Born in the Shadows and Pyromaniac. During mapping we can pick HoT up again once we have access to a 5-link BBGGR to add Inspiration to the supports. E: everything fixed now including gem rewards, purchases, end of act goals and weapon swap/inventory gems, and mapping sections. Added optional BL transition at 31 in leveling guide but recommend waiting until act 10. Also updated PoB with added notes about ideal mana with full mine stack active for new CWDT/Immortal Call costs. Unfortunately this used up my “before work” time when I planned to try to pretty up more of the leveling sections like Act 1 & 2 but the others will serve their purpose for now. Please don’t hesitate to let me know about any more errors that I can adjust before league start and GL everyone! Last edited by jpypoe on Jul 23, 2021, 12:55:29 PM

The more I think about it the more I like Inspiration taking Elemental Focus’ spot on the support list. I checked PoB and for my budget setup it was maybe 5% DPS loss, not taking into account the potential to Shock with the ailment threshold changes. This means you can keep your Herald of Thunder (and potentially even have room for Clarity which is very nice due to the Arcane Surge changes), you have no stress with reaching your active mine cap, and you have no worries about having mana for CWDT/IC or even linking it with Increased Duration. It’s also the solution to keeping the amazing Aspect of the Spider option on a little higher of an investment build (can’t stress how nice this is for high mobility bosses etc that can get out of your BL radius). I’ll be updating the PoB today to include the new links and making some adjustments to drop a few reduced mana reservation nodes as I don’t think they’ll be necessary pre Aspect of the Spider unless you’re trying to fit in something like Flesh and Stone (which is another great option for the budget end game setup if you want to drop Born in the Shadows and I’ll add that to the PoB as well).
Also think I’ve found a solution to manual cast Conductivity for the Malachai’s Artifice-Armegeddon Brand red map setup, and I have some more notes and resources to add to the mapping section. Last edited by jpypoe on Jul 23, 2021, 6:36:46 PM

" I'm glad that us talking has helped improve your build! You've clearly put a lot of effort into it and it can only get better from here. Makes me very happy to see someone spread their love for mines to everyone who wants to give it a shot. Hope the new league treats you well! :) |

" One love Mine love haha. Thanks for pushing me towards getting on that, I had my suspicions about mana multipliers being an issue before the patch notes even dropped as they mentioned it in the manifesto but I honestly underestimated how much it would change and I didn’t see the big increase to CWDT coming/was focused on pushing the leveling content before league launch. Much more planned for the guide in the near future, will make a few more edits here soon but moving forward the next week or so I intend to use my spare time to actually play! E: the only small gripe I have is in the last few days I’ve effectively eliminated both awakened gems which I guess could be looked at as a good thing as it’s one less thing to invest in getting you to other things more quickly but it was nice having those small improvement goals. GLHF everyone!
Just a side note, im playing this build. However, lvling with Eye of winter. Its amazing as a miner :o might be worth looking at

" I’ve got my eye on that one and Storm Rain!
So why are you using Icicle Mine in the red map section but in the POB it's not there, is BL Mine enough after red maps and you don't need Icicle anymore?

" The PoB gems are strictly for the end game setup, refer to the mapping section for gems and links for mapping. In the near future we’ll solve this by having two completely separate PoBs. Once you have a 5 link you can drop Icicle Mine and use only BL with gem swapping Slower Projectiles for LMP when mapping, then swapping back for bosses but I’d keep Icicle Mine if the clear speed is not an issue because you get an extra defensive layer from freeze (we get a lot of Crit so we can freeze map mobs consistently) and more instant chill application. I’ve been a bit short on availability so I’ve only had a few hours to play my SSF Expedition Sab so far and I’m testing things for the guide as I go so it’s even slower, I just finished Merc lab and act 7 this morning. Up until now I’ve had 0 issues with Icicle clear (it’s actually very good) but by mapping we intend to drop the crafted wands for +1 Lightning skill gems. If you want to keep using Icicle Mine you need to prioritize +Lightning Damage to spells craft from bench after crafting the base or the drop off for clear may be too impactful, if you go the gem swap route with only BL then crit to spells bench craft is almost surely better. I need to test further to say for sure, should be able to play tonight and start mapping. Good luck! E: so far the build has performed very well leveling. We taper down a bit in boss killing speed from Act 3-6 bosses but it’s still quite good. Around Act 7 seems like a good time to make the BL swap from what I’m seeing, you have enough mana passives by then to manage the full 19 stack with leftover mana without sacrificing an aura but you need the BBGG 4 link to make it feel good. I’ll most likely emphasize earlier life passives when I next update leveling PoBs as the campaign is less forgiving than before and I think that’ll help a lot of people but you can always skip them in favor of the damage options if you feel confident in your understanding of mechanics etc. Last edited by jpypoe on Jul 25, 2021, 1:37:44 PM

" Thanks a lot for that explanation :) I will probably swap to BL around act 7-8 then and keep going with swapping the gems |
