Content Update 3.15.0 -- Path of Exile: Expedition

" Do the math, ED contagion is hit pretty hard too. |

Well, after harvest nerfs and ultimatum "league" overall, ultimatum was my shortest ever played league.
Constant nerfs of existing mechanics, tremendous amount of new content with each new league is now unreachable with every new patchnote slowing down the progression. I'm not even planning to play expedition league for the first time since 2017. I'm sick of it all. Listen to your community, Chris. |

I'm good with most of the nerfs, although some of them seens a bit out of touch. I agree that the game was not so difficult if you had the time to learn it and play it.
But, thats the problem for most poe players, they dont have that time to invest in the game, so I'm a bit worry for those players (around 80% of player base) that had a rough time before all the nerfs, they will have even a tougher time now. That's my biggest concern, but otherwise I'm happy with the nerfs and meta shake up, it would be an interesting league. |

I like it a lot. Well done. I don't see why players should be able to go anywhere past a point you decide on and is completely fine to get that bar high.
There is so much hate going around and I have big hopes for the league in general. The only thing I am not sure about is the detonation mechanic. My favourite leagues of all time were Delve and Heist. Keep up the good work. |

" The first "beta player" that realizes that the game evolved since it came out, and trying to revert to beta difficulties is not the right direction. A difficult story line is only cool the first time you play it. Expecting people to grind through a difficult story every season makes zero sense. This is why I was exited about POE 2, because you could play difficult story for fun, but switch to easy story to get to content grinding. Fun facts: 1. Build diversity comes from lowering difficulty not increasing it. Not that I am saying lower difficulty is desired. 2. Increasing difficulty at later stages encourage stretch goals, but increasing it earlier only achieves the effect of increased risk of frustration. |

So patch Notes are 100% Nerf notes since Delirium, End game Will be T10 in almost 3/4 Leagues

I get that combatting power creep is a thing. Heck, quadrupling endgame boss HP a few leagues ago was desperately needed (Shapers per second being an actual damage calculation was hilarious though).
My concern is they're nuking everything all at once and too harshly. Hear me out. First, I love this game, I have 3000+ hours and started in 3.0 (only skipping a couple leagues due to life stuff). After seeing that I started in 3.0, you might know where I'm going with this. GGG got a LOT of casual/new players with 3.0. It was a huge boom. It's part of the reason they've gotten much larger as a company. Myself, it took me until 3.4 to kill Shaper, 3.6 to kill Elder, and 3.10 to kill Uber Elder. I just killed Uber Atziri for the first time in 3.14, same goes with Maven, Aul, and many others. I put hundreds of hours into this league. I worry that the company has grown to the point that they won't be able to support the player falloff with nerfs this hard. I personally don't have enough time to put into a complete rework like this to enjoy this season. Even if I did, the much slower pace without any reduction in HUGE enemy damage spikes goes against everything I've learned to love about this game. I'm not saying it's a flaw in the game, I'm not faulting the devs, I'm just saying that people have spent 3 years feeling more and more powerful and now that's just being cut off. It's going to be off-putting to many, and I really hope the handful of old school masochists can keep the game going. That said, in a couple leagues when they reduce monster DAMAGE across the board so that fights are longer but not as stupid rippy, and balance these wild nerfs I'll probably be back. Maybe not though, there's so much toxicity from casual players about these kinds of patch notes, and so much hate from veteran players about casuals whining, I kinda don't want to be a part of that e-peen waggling atmosphere anymore (and making the game harder is just going to exacerbate that). Anyway, for those of you still playing, have fun! I hope this all ends better, but it feels so rough to me right now. |
