Overall it`s clearly cheaper to scale the HoA up with some HoA-crits (Assasins mark, spirit offering, +2 maata`s, fearsome force, brittle, bitter heresity bloodline profane ground, AG kingmaker). The default 250M pob is this league around 60-80 divs only (when you do the +1 curse on the AG-cursebot instead on ashes), or with 3-flasks mageblood-qol 160 div. On the other hand that higher burst-damage is really only needed against really though bosses (deep aul) and ubers, everything else survives not long enough to feel the benefits of a bit slower upramped HoA-power charges. The lazy 1-button style is much more fun in maps. The cheap #5p-voices are already fine too to go cheap above 200M-400M damage. The #0-p voices are simply more beautiful! Wooow! Suppress tattoos are valuable, often they free up in chainreaction 3-4 passives in lategame. Like Fenrir wrote, aw fork or returning projectiles-pierce is for harbingers-farming faster as pierce. As necro also asenaths-gloves are attractive for harbingers and capped 35M-dot. In maps also the golden rule ramps up chaos-resis. I never had serious problems with around 45% chaos-resis in t-17 when flat dr was already stacked high, the arakaali pantheon and golden rule does the missing c-resis. Against t17-dot or gigant-rogues I always recommend a elegant hubris supreme decadence on top for manually 100% uptime of more es-recovery. A +8 amulet is also interesting, but a bit less qol for gaining a lot dps. And of course a source of withers doubles the damage (can be autotriggered). @Chromino Can you take another look at my current setup? I am far more happy now, but have been obliterated be the feared today (sirus and the cortex guy). Not sure if it is about my skill or if I am missing something crucial. I just saw that i am missing frost shield and maybe another 5 virulences but cant see anything that is achievable fast and not only a minor upgrade. This is my first time playing with Herald of Agony and I'm really enjoying it thanks to this build! I managed to get a mageblood recently and so I thought I'd put it to good use, however I've noticed that the "Mageblood" tree and items/skills might not be updated for 3.27 yet? The "Mageblood" variation doesn't take lycia ascendancy, is that because with minions being used for support auras, plaguebringer is stronger? Also, in the mageblood items, it has a bone ring with life on spell hit, is that just being used for the minion attack speed and attributes? The helmet in the mageblood items also confuses me, it has +2 minions as the implicit, how is that done? (I'm fine with my helm, I got so lucky crafting it, I couldn't believe it) but if I could make one to free up another prefix for more ES that would be cool. Another question. The "Mageblood" passive tree in the PoB goes for CI, I was curious if there was a specific reason for that. I apologize if all these answers are in this guide somewhere, I've read through everything multiple times but I have horrible ADHD and if I read some information that wasn't directly related to what I was curious about in that very moment I didn't retain it.
