Characters sent to void league on death should NOT be a map mod

Remember last season (or was it 2 leagues ago?) when a HC streamer got killed by link PK for wanting to be helpful?
Same could be happening in SC now? Just ask for help so some careless good natured guy comes in and tries to help the friendly "New player" on completing a map.

Yes, I get that people can pay to ruin the experience of other players.

You think everyone playing even fully comprehends what that modifier means? Even among those who do know what it means, do you think no one will ever miss or misread the modifier?

HC players die to reflect maps they know they can't run, there is video evidence of exactly that happening to numerous streamers, and those are expert players who definitely do pay attention to map modifiers, so no one who is actually being honest about this can claim that no one will ever miss or misread the modifiers.

There should be nothing in the game that threatens the very existence of a SC character. The very nature of SC is that you can die without significant consequence, the absolute worst that happens is some XP loss and the loss of the content you were running and its loot.

Even hardcore death isn't as extreme as this, so this has no place even in HC. If you die in HC, your character just goes to standard, it isn't lost forever.

The only way a character should ever go to void league is if it's a character in a voided event.

This mod might adversely affect 1 player a year lucky enough to find it and dumb enough to run it without first looking into what it means.

Calm down.

yeah it's a dumb gimmick and whoever thinks otherwise doesn't comprehend, somebody should invite randoms to the map with turbo rippy mods and send people to standard, that's the only way it'll get changed unfortunately

I think this comment illustrates the issue very nicely; standard is not the same as voided...

This modifier should not exist; it's extremely toxic.
A new low...

So now we have a map modifier that exists in non-voided leagues, including SC, which essentially and permanently removes your character from the game on death.

Yes. And it's good. Don't run it if you're scared.

So what if someone opens the map, pulls mobs to the portal and then asks people for help? He can claim it has reflect which he cannot run but wants the clear. Then some good natured bro wants to help and carelessly walks in...

SC by definition should have no permadeath.
"SC, by definition..." is a weird phrase here considering the league isn't called SC and it doesn't have a definition other than...its existence. Whatever GGG makes it do, is what it is.

I mean you can have whatever ideas you like about what you'd like the game to be, we all do. But they don't constitute a 'definition' that the game has to follow.

then the hapless idiot loses their character. The map mods are on the right side of the screen. just look. The what ifs are pointless, and if you need a malicious actor for an example of why you don't like something, it seems flimsy. Just don't run it. You'll be fine.
Can anyone explain how such a map mod enriches the game experience in Standard or Standard-based challenge leagues? What positive effect that fits with the Standard-based content is gained from the addition of this mod?
