Honor mechanic makes me hate path of exile 2 already.
The honour system makes me not want to play melee in a game that already really hates melee.
I say cut it all together. It's a terrible idea. I get that the devs REALLY want that From Software audience really bad but this ain't it. My suggestion would be to make so you don't fail when you run out. And isntead you get bonus rewards (keys or water or whatever) based on how much honour you have left. The way it is now is going to force people to quit and already generally furstrating expirence. The trials that is. I do not look forward to doing these and I have such a horrible time doing them. |

time consuming, boring, unrewarding, rng being able to end your run with afflictions at any time, frustrating and unfair honor system
this is not challenging, it is stupid and annoying. The worst design I have ever seen in any rpg game IGN: Eric_Lindros

Posting to +1 this thread.
I'm playing a minion build. I found the first two trials relatively easy as I could just stay out of the way and let my minions take a beating. However, I'm level 74 now and I've failed the third trial three times. Principal reason being: I have about 10-12 minions at any given time and I just cannot see enemies firing at me due to screen clutter. I could turn them off; but they're my only source of damage. I play the main game by keeping an eye on my shield and watching that I'm not in melee slam range. But the honour system in the trial punishes my playstyle completely. In my last trial I'd gotten to floor three, had all my honour (2400 worth approx), and it was wiped out in two rooms by basically two enemies rattling out a short burst that I couldn't see at all. I failed the trial having lost no health at all, and with my shield essentially never going down below 80%. It's an hour "lost" each time. In fact it's about 3-4 hours lost each time if you try farming for the Djinn you need to run the trial. Those that haven't got to this bit yet are in for a treat. It's basically an RNG fest on the map, praying that you don't end up being railroaded in to a node with a "minor affliction" which just nullifies your build. Fancy playing ten rooms with no armour? No? How about 25% less foot speed? That's fun trying to dodge flames. You get the idea. The honour system is bollox, just get rid of it. |

" I play melee and can burn through the highest level (80) sekhemas in under 20 min. If you only have 2k-ish honor then you need to get more life and ES on your build. Without any +max honor relics I'm sitting on over 5k. With the relics I use it tops out at just under 8k. Also make sure to have at least 75% total honor resistance. Sekhemas isn't hard, it's much easier than maps. I've only failed twice in over 200 runs (190+ which were level 80). The first fail came on my third ascendancy attempt after which I watch one 5 min YT video and learned what I was doing wrong. The other failure was a death that was 100% my fault because I got cocky with the final (4th floor) boss. TLDR: Skill issue on your part, bud. |
