well no its not "rushed" ... its repurposed generally HATED mechanic from PoE1
which is absolutelly baffling to me
they know that its disliked - only done by hyperspecialized builds and people that do it because the rewards are so high its worth literally having character just to do it
they KNOW its nigh impossible for melee
yet they put it as first ascendancy trial marked for lvl 20 characters ...
whatever stuff they are smoking i think they should kindly reduce the dosage ...
"Generally hated" says who? Sanctum was one of my most liked leagues, I got multiple characters to 100 that league. I love Hades, and was overjoyed they put something similar to that/Curse of the Dead Gods in the game.
People also claim Heist is universally hated, but there are plenty of people who enjoy Heist as their main way to play and earn currency (myself not included, but there are lots of them).
My brother in christ, you don't have to do sekhema to ascend...
I can imagine Trials of Chaos is worse than Sekhema lmao
Seeing as the first Sekhema trial was completely faceroll other than the boss, which was on-par with the rest of the difficult bosses, far from impossible, who knows?
Either way, writing off an entire mechanic just because you noticed it's similar to a mechanic you didn't like from a completely different game is absolutely mind boggling.

I think its being a transfered league mechanic from poe 1 doesnt help it. Cause players who disliked that particular league are biased against it from the start.
Which is for both current Ascendancy Trials the case for me.
I never liked Sanctum, I never (played) and later liked Ultimatum.
I now got the Sekhema trial done, with 1 full act overleveled. This time it was a faceroll for me as well.
The first 3 attempts were anything but. And im playing Ranger/Bow.
My Damage was absolut trash until I finally got a weapon upgrade that straight up doubled my damage output.
The fact that its this gear depending if you are having an easy time or not is also dangerous to the mechanic when it comes to make people like it.
The paralles are way to obvious as well to not compare it to poe 1 sanctum
The whole mechanic is even called sanctum in poe 2 when you crash in it!
Like common, more obvious copy paste isnt possible.

and im sure you did it with a Warrior right ? ... despite having a Ranger as a profile pic ... RIGHT ? ...
says player count graph dipping even under Kalandra ...
Sanctum is one of the three WORST leagues the PoE ever had - Kalandra, Sentinel and Sanctum
its also THE weakest league in the day1 concurrent players category
Okay, where the hell are you getting your numbers from because Sentinel was also beloved. People were insanely hype that recombinators were coming back in Settlers.
Not to mention, I'm almost positive that I remember Sanctum having some of the best retention of any league, mainly to do with the general changes to the game, even though many chose to opt out of participating in the mechanic. Which is fine. I didn't interact with necropolis mechanic at all because I thought it was way too much work. That doesn't mean the league failed, or even that the mechanic itself was bad.
Same with original Harvest. The set up of the grove was a lot of micromanagement, and it actually let to a lot of FOMO for people, and lead to people just looking up guides for whatever the optimal grove setup was. That's a huge part of why we got the massively streamlined grove and harvest bench we have now.
Not sure what to say. I loved Sanctum. People loved Sentinel. It's okay to have a different opinion, but don't pretend like everyone else has the same as you. I am not trying to tell you to like Sanctum, just that saying nobody does is crazy talk.

poedb - graph of concurrents for last 8 leagues ...
see thats the thing, you THINK those were popular despite them being the weakest leagues from last 2 years because YOU had fun, ignoring the facts and just droning on how great they were ...
well congrats to you but no EVERYONE liked them and plenty people HATE them
and hate them so much that basing BASIC MANDATORY MECHANIC for LOW LEVEL PROGRESSION on such mechanic is an ABSOLUTE lunacy
sure Rangers, Sorcs and Witches do not care ... now realize there is the class of WARRIOR that is MELEE ... yknow playstyle that is notoriously INCAPABLE of running Sanctum even in PoE1 with all the mobility and avoidance tools that we do not have in PoE2 ... especially not at lvl 20 ...

Lmfao yeah you're cracked buddy. I run sanctum all the time as melee jugg. It's not a problem at all.
Watch alkaizer play sanctum on slams. It's completely faceroll. Armour makes you take WAY less damage in the Sanctum.
Also I just checked the poedb graphs. You're literally just lying. You are only comparing leagues that came after Sanctum and Sentinel and Kalandra. PoE is gaining popularity as time goes on. You need to look back 12+ leagues, not the default 8 that the graph shows you. You absolute brainlet.

no bud that is exactly why you DONT look at 3+ year old leagues as further back in time you go the LESS relevant the data becomes ...
if you stopped and thought about it and actually LOOKED at the graphs you would clearly see that from last 8 leagues the sanctum was abysmal at 126k starting concurrent pop while the very next league started at 211k ...
but hey once someone steps down to schoolyard insults there really isnt a point of trying to discuss anything is there ...
