Against all odds, the game is balanced around SSF... If you'd not trade, you'd find upgrades every now and then. See the guy who was first to defeat difficulty 4 arbiter in HC SSF, he had a lot better gear then what I had in trade league after 3 weeks.

Few months before PoE 2 release there was a GGG insider who leaked that Chris never did came back into office since he sold his shares to Tencent and went into details how PoE 2 was badly managed by Jonathan who spent the last years focusing all resources on PoE 1 seasons & that he did spend the last months changing the design philosophy of PoE 2 / delaying release due to MTXs , and others important details .
Anyway all of that has been confirmed to be true since PoE 2 release and is exactly in line with these recent developments ( that Jonathan lied about 3.26 being cooked & him being incapable of managing two projects simultaneously ) . So yeah GGG is no different than the rest of the studios out-here and they need to get their shit together big time .

maybe the real friends we made along the way was the sense of community from the humans we see in towns, trades and global chat. the awareness of other human beings that share and reinforce the illusion of value attached to these pixels we farm.
that and the actual friends we made, for those of us who have friends i guess. i was actually engaged to a woman i met playing poe for a good 5 years or so there somewhere in the mix. i met her through a friend in a guild i joined from making a trade with a different dude.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.

Just look for some leaks about poe2 on google, it'll not so difficult to find what @Ashyev is talking about.

this doesn't even add up with its own narrative. if all resources went into poe1 seasons and poe2 philosophy being changed last minute due to mis-management why did they switch 180 now and placed poe1 seasons on ice?
Where it doesn't add up ? For years they focused all efforts on milking PoE 1 seasons because that was the only way they could meet the MTX objectives ordered by Tencent . PoE 2 did bring no money on the table for years . And GGG did reversed that focus back on PoE 2 recently because that was the only way to launch the product on time ( GGG even had to delay due to MTX not being ready yet ) . Now PoE 2 did make great sales , good for them , but the game is still in a meh state on several aspects so they are trying to keep player retention on it to milk EA as much as possible . That's all there is to it .
Once you remove from the equation BS copium such as " GGG isn't after our wallets they care about quality & the players" , everything they did and what was leaked so far makes perfect sense .
