What happened to Chris Wilson?
At least now we know why PoE2 is the biggest dogpile.
Farewell Chris, I didn't agree with your vision and a lot of changes made. But you will be missed and have been ultimately the success to this game. Enjoy your retirement and watch the game burn from a distance. |

"Alright let's keep it real, there is no way of us knowing and that's fine. No need to find a scapegoat. "Okay doomer. If you say so, then surely! |

Saddies, but I do feel like we're in good hands.

personally, not making a final post or video explaining his departure after 11 years, which for me he is not leaving on good terms, nothing good for the future , knowing how this project started 11 year ago

" This. If it had been for any personal reasons we would very likely anounced is goodbye before he actual leaves. Be it a new project, extendet holidays, family or what ever. And noone here would have been mad at him at all! But just disapearing from one day to another and then the cominity "by exident" finds out he is no longer Game Director of GGG ... that smalls so terrible like "you are fired CW!" bye Tencent. I knew it was a terrible idear to sell GGG. Including there was absolut no reason as GGG was very healthy all the time. |

I think there was a soft coup, though not by design, more dictated by events; good people do bad stuff and so on.
If his contract were terminated, surely you find evidence of that, somewhere. It's not there. Of course all of this is amenable, but all parties have to be willing. Jonathan is managing director, Mark moves to PoE 2, Chris returns as the managing director for all the programmers among the streameers. That way, Mark and Jonathan have their hands free and the cycle for PoE 1 can continue with hopefully two leagues a year. So many of you seem stuck in "we need a plan". I never understand what keeps you from "we need this plan". It's easy. [Removed by Support] Last edited by JC_GGG#0000 on Feb 19, 2025, 10:01:45 AM

" QFE! So now that we have PoE2, GGG needs to revert the nerfs to 'slow down' PoE1.
Never forget the great Alt Qual Gem deletion, the Ex > Div swap and loss of various crafting methods. Bring back Fire Nova Mine! Enjoy Path of Nerfs Dos!! |

" I have to say that the last month or so GGG has felt like a ship that suddenly lost its captain. Johnathan's news announcement takes on a whole new light if suddenly he's the one thrown into the top level decision making about what to do with POE1 and POE2 when it was Chris talking about "the plan" and not Johnathan. SO does the panic event announcement a few days later... (take on a new light) I feel like Chris would never have okayed the first "sorry not working on POE1 for a few months" announcement. Rewatch it... it feels rushed and emotional. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. |

Chris wouldn't have pulled all people from PoE in the first place. It was probably one of the first big decisions Jonathan made as new CEO and so he felt the need to apologise.
One can only hope he learns from it and maybe takes some advice from his friend and former CEO. |
