PoE 2 is cooking GPUs and CPUs Actually Dangerous to PC.

This is nothing you, early Betrayal league literally destroyed my gpu at the time it released.
Adjust your setting, I have a i7-13700K on a 240 AIO, A770 in a small ATX case running HDMI into a TCL 4K 60Hz smart TV and had high usage and freezing when I first started playing.

Found that using Xxe upscaling was running at native display resolution of 4k, switched to the first choice for upscaling (forget what it's named) and set game to 1440 Fullscreen with 62 FPS limit, low graphics setting and BLOOM set to near as low as possible (20-30).

Running smooth since. Spike to about 70% usage and 70C-80C on loading and never over 30% usage and 65C while playing. Graphic card stays under 65C even with 100% usage, but usually 80-96% usage and 45C-55C.

I do have fast 8 GB read 4 Gen SSDs, if you have older slow drive it might be causing your long load times and heat build up.

Too busy killing mobs to admire the scenery.
Still an issue. Any other games run smooth as silk on my PC, but PoE2 causes overheat shutdowns.
It may have performance issues or not. But if it is "cooking GPUs" and is "dangerous" that's an issue with your OS drivers and/or your PC build.
I'd indeed much rather see performance tweaks than campaign tweaks. To this day, I don't even know what poe2/poe1 story is about and guess what - i dont give a crap.
`Spent 2 mirrors on my build, but I'm only Level 98.` LOL
`From just quick sweep of your characters, toxic rain, golems .. sure, non meta... sure.` LOL

That might not be true. There are serious issues with the underlying codebase, particularly with CPUs.

If you have an AMD CPU, particularly an x3D model, there's a problem where the game causes massive power draws that in the worst case can literally fry your CPU. In minor cases it causes crashes or BSOD. If your on an x3D CPU, you pretty much HAVE to be running POE uncrasher or every loading screen risks completely destroying your CPU. See https://github.com/Kapps/PoEUncrasher. This is not a problem with anyone's computer or build, it's literally PoEs fault. It would not be surprising at all that there were similar issues regarding GPU and random power spikes.

If PoE 2's code makes it run slower than it should on capable GPUs and CPUs, then it's POE 2's fault. But if PoE 2's fault causes damage to GPU or CPUs, then either your PC build is not properly built to run at load or you have uncovered a serious issue with OS or Motherboard. A program shouldn't be able to physically damage your PC, no matter how badly made it is coded.

not only are they swinging the nerf bat all around, but theres serious performance issues. Check your temps and tell me its not turning into a straight up turkey roaster in maps.

3070 ti and top of the line i9 both with WATERCOOLING.

Every other game is fine benchmarks etc, this games running so much resources its actually dangerous, hope you guys got marshmellows.

I have here Intel 5.5 Ghz + RTX5090 and I have to tell you: PoE2 boil this hardware as hell!!!

But, because I work in Architecture field and I use hardware with really max stress, I use two special mandatory software:
- Afterburner (I switch at 66% - minimum - power of my GPU) when I play PoE2
- LassoPro - specific automatic setting of CPU when PoE2 is running - you can find on web how to do.
