Stun / Heavy stun should not knockback enemies

So true! I always end up lossing two strikes on rares and some bosses due to that. Pretty annoying.

Actually there is too much annoying knockback in this game. For spellcasters, for example, Ice Nova's knockback can take monsters out of the skill range. As they usually are frozen, they don't come back to the AoE again, so, if you're surrended by mobs, you can't kill them all at the same time. Kinda annoying.
Sorry to bump this, but I didn't want to make another thread for it.

But I came to the forums to complain about this exact mechanic.

For close-range characters, stuns that send the enemy way out of melee range is completely antithetical to the point of stunning the enemy. Stun should award us free hits on the mob.... sending him out of range usually wastes 1/4 - 1/3 of the stun time while we get back in range.

Please consider reducing the distance that stuns sent enemies by a significant amount. Currently melee characters do not get to take full advantage of the stun time while ranged classes do. Seems backwards.

Like the post above me, I googled "poe2 heavy stun knockback distance" and found this post. Sorry to bump this thread again but this is really, really annoying for melee. Ranged players can ofc laugh at the whole drawbacks of this mechanic as usual.
