1 Portal system is SHIT
Why u guys complaining about 1 portal when there are clearly 6 portals that open?
You mean you want to die 5 times and still get to go back? Lmao I'm so happy that GGG got rid of the braindead punishment-free reclined nature of the first game in its second iteration. I couldn't play it if it was as easy (boring) as you guys want it to be |

I see we have a tough gamer guy here. But even if you are like that, don't you like being efficient? At the very least the current system is shit because the process of retrying a map is a complete hassle. You have to return to the refuge and find a new waystone and re-pick the map. Why not just give us a quick waystone selection for a retry without leaving?

" Stuck in refuge... that's the funniest thing I've read today. [Removed by Support]

Yes, People reach different points of the game at different times. It's a thing that happens.

" Sure, but refuge is something you are only stuck one single time for around 5-6 maps. After that, on every single new character after your first ever, you only need to do the one quest waystone and that's it. [Removed by Support]

the 1 death per map thing is punishing in multiple ways
the tower bonuses get removed the waystone gets lost you loose exp i can live with the exp thing, like some consequence should be there but having to start the map over with a new waystone is just tiring (alternativly if you dont you will have a unfinished map in the middle, mocking you) suggestion remove some bonuses per death? like say the breaches (or bosses or w/e) get disabled all dropped loot that was on the ground gets voided i just dont want to run the same map again yall |

Just dropped by after dying in a T14 map to a bad dodge roll--the sort of thing that can happen to anyone. I'm not outclassed gear-wise and am progressing at a fair clip, but that dumb mistake just cost me my last T14 Waystone and probably an hour's worth of XP.
And, like...why? The thing I keep going back to is how *very little* this adds to the game. I get nothing as a player out of only getting one crack at a map. I cannot stress that part enough. There isn't anything fun or interesting about it; it just makes me more risk-averse and eats up my time and resources. I can't try new strategies against bosses, I can't change up gear to accommodate mob types--I can just die and try again with a different Waystone and probably different mechanics later. And as a few people have pointed out, this blows even harder if you're playing with other people. You die in your own map and then have to sit around on your elbows for half an hour while your party clears it without you? Just awful. My wife played this game with me enthusiastically through the campaign, but the "no res" jiggery-pokery of the Atlas has really turned her off, and I don't know if she's really up for doing this anymore. This game is fun, but the Atlas is just made into more of a slog because of the lack of retries on maps. Fix it! |

I think that's basically the gist of the problem with the current design. It's impossible to just chill. In this game you work hard for your build and stuff. Sometimes you just want to go somewhere full of monsters and get kills. But with the one-portal design it means that anything you do, anywhere you go will completely be halted with a single death. So you can't make mistakes ever. Basically, everything is Sekemas/Temple.
I'd just like a way to play after endgame with some chill. And no, it doesn´t even have to have good drop rates or anything like that. Honestly? Maybe just allowing Normal waystones to be just like in campaign mode where you can die however you want, get revived by allies and all that stuff, but you can't get Breaches or Deliriums or Expeditions to spawn, I guess. And if you want more challenge with more upgrades you enchant the waystones or irradiate the maps with a Tower to turn those maps into challenges. |

Sweaty.
Picture a fat hairy man. Shorts too small, gut hanging over on all sides. mayonnaise sweat pouring from every pore. That's poe2 right now. Not the rewarding sheen of a workout. A oily buttery sweat dripping down your butt crack while you wait in line. That is the trials of seckema. The sweat soaking into your collar while trapped in that unending meeting taking place in a room with no air conditioning. That is the end game. Nice and Sweaty. " Yup. There is nothing challenging or skill based about running maps. This isn't Dark Souls where you can "Git Gud" and beat the game as a lvl 1. The whole point is to grind gear to overcome content. Sure, I can play one of the 3 meta builds, a tanky build or just in general be very careful when running maps and literally never die. But with poe. . I am running over a thousand maps in one league. It's not very fun playing like that map after map after map. I want to map as quickly as possible and if I make a mistake okay, I lose experience and cannot level up unless I make changes. But the current system of punishing you with like 7 different things, including making you run the same map over again with all the fun league mechanics and bosses missing is just dumb and unfun. I want to have FUN. That's why we play these games Sidenote: Soulsgames are my all time favorite games and I would never advocate for making them "easier". This is not a soulsgame it is an arpg and not having six portals is just wasting everyone's time. Including the devs based on the new trash system they just introduced for portals in maps. Just make it six portals and forget about it |
