Common Monster Drowning Orbs
" Cool story. Now show me a character of an average player just entering maps with the standard leveling gear that one would expect a character to have at that level, not a 4k mana archmage endgame build that (mind you) almost did still get surrounded in that video. Just because you're not having a problem getting cc'd doesn't mean you're the model to base the experience of the average player after. Cool build tho. You've given me an idea |

" I didn't start out at lvl 95 with my current gear. I had to get there somehow as well - most of my exp does come from breach/deli breach Map sustain from breach/bosses archmage/mom started feeling good at roughly 3.2k mana - past that it started feeling better every upgrade, they have gotten REAL expensive though since some streamer highlighed am/mom/ci/eb builds 4days ago /sad also if I had gotten surrounded, I would have deserved that death, same rule applies to me. Please just remove this OR make it like those draining orbs in PoE1..
These things were dreadful in T17 PoE1, but now even more because you encouter those evil witches (sub w for B) a lot more. |

Yeah, they are slow and (usually) easy to dodge.
The question is, should basic white mobs have abilities that completely ignore all player defenses? Personally, not sold on that, not in a game with so many random elements. Leave mechanics like that to the bosses. |

" Or you're a melee character trying to get close to one of several river hags. The problem isn't the drowning orb, the problem is that river hags can appear in groups, and then it is just completely tedious to kill them as a melee character. |

" Don’t have this issue on warrior you need to learn to play into them correctly. Not run face first and then go “melee struggles” There’s nothing wrong with the hags and their drowning orbs Last edited by Poe2WarriorMan#6401 on Dec 28, 2024, 8:55:14 AM

" I'd say this is the real problem. You get an interesting swirl effect applied to your screen and then death. It's rather inconspicuous for an always-lethal attack. Perhaps an audio cue for true 1-shots like this pretty orb could be incorporated in the future. |

I'll be ok with drowning orb when a big countdown appears over my head.
Alternate solution: license the rights to the Sonic 2 drowning song. Play that while I'm inside the bubble. Last edited by Replacement_Human#3646 on Dec 28, 2024, 12:29:42 PM

I'm sorry but this is just a case of "git good" and actually good design.
I play as a Warrior with only 10% movespeed on boots and I literally had to try to die to them. I can understand if people complain about crazy combination of rare mobs like Hasted + Temporal Bubble But the drowning orbs are the least of the problems this game has. Just roll twice when an orb touches you man. I get it, these hags can be annoying in groups and you have every right to not like them. But they really aren't unfair the time window is really big There are things that are waaaaay worse like barely visible corpse explosion that one shots you and some unpredictable boss attacks that also OHKO |
