More Secret Areas - Incentive Map Exploration
Currently, there seems to be only a few secret areas that contain a bit of extra loot during the campaign, and think GGG should expand upon this and add more secret rooms to incentive players to explore every nook and cranny.
I would like to see more secret passageways or hidden doors that you can access after activating a nearby switch. Last edited by CharlesJT#7681 on Aug 3, 2025, 9:04:40 PM Last bumped on Aug 6, 2025, 8:32:26 AM

GGG, please consider adding more secret areas in 0.3.0!

GGG take an example of Dungeon Siege II. You need to juicing your fantasy. There is no innovative ideas , only copy paste from Poe1.

" Oooooo what have you reminded me now!!! The old good days i played DS2. A lot of secret areas with secret movement combos to reveal them. That was a quality game even better than Diablo games. Becouse Devs new how to grow exitment of customers and didn't bother only for profits. Nowadays all games are like " hit hit hit kill kill kill and back again. No fantasy at all. |

" The first game that brought secret doors and passageways was ZELDA ( a link to the past ). I played it in super Nintendo and was awesome becouse kept exitment, curiosity and fantasy until the end of game. GGG should learn from those games to make Endgame more fun. Running all the time and killing monsters is a bit boring. Searching element missing from the game. Also it would be awesome to detonate rocks to open secret paths. |

" Yes, would be cool to have bombs that could detonate walls in dungeons to find secret areas. PoE2 needs more Legend of Zelda... ![]() |

" Becouse is not implemented with innovative ideas it needs... Same as Recombinator mashine. You can't just throw in game a mashine and expect to bring exitment to players. It needs more love and innovative ideas to be designed, something that GGG team don't have. That's why whole Endgame failed and now players expecting miracles from 0.3.0. Ain't gonna happen bro. " ok.... so you want old school mechanics that are 'innovative'? at what point would they still have the old-school feel that people want itt? care to give an example of such ideas? there is an influx of these 'idea threads' but they are either half-baked or are already in-game or were in poe1 for years. and yeh, if you need miracles form 0.3 to have fun here you might never be satisfied with this genre. reading "Nowadays all games are like " hit hit hit kill kill kill and back again. No fantasy at all." on a forum of a Diablo-like arpg is confusing to say the least. its like complaining that Colin (Dirt) is just 'mindless racing' and asking to convert it to GTA. |

" Well before Zelda were text based games Advent(ure) and Dungeon (originally on PDP-10 mainframes), which later became the original Zork text game on PC, before the grahical version of Zork. Both had secret rooms and quests required to get clues to open the rooms. Same in the original Rogue (where the term Roguelike came from). Secret rooms have been a staple of all dungeon crawling games since the inception of the genre. |
