Slam attacks of Quadrillas and Vile Vultures can't be evaded?
" I read it, but you are wrong that armour doesn't do anything. It doesn't do much for big hits, but I survived some slams that I certainly wouldn't have without armour. |

" I'm not, though. If the hit is big enough, Armour literally won't do anything. But keep stacking it. It will help you until it doesn't 😁 |

" But most hits aren't big enough. I'm well aware that armour doesn't help against everything, and I won't stack it beyond a reasonable level, but it's simply not true that it doesn't help at all. A 2000 dmg slam would kill my character, but since I have almost 5000 armour, about 17% are still mitigated, so I end up taking 1660 and survive. |

" And you don't see how 10-20k ES would help with that better than any amount of Armour could? Really? Are you trolling? You literally asked for help, got it from a bunch of people just to stay ignorant and acting like small 2k hits are big hits just to defend ignorance? Alright then. |

Evasion feels terrible to me personally.
Its made me put ranger down (my preferred class) and play monk because of the same "blow up the screen" tech but with energy shield. Zero evasion and i have no issues. Maybe that speaks more for how broken ES is...but different topic. I have since gone back to ranger and unspec'd out of every evasion node i could, taken my tree north into Monk for ES increases and replaced all evasion gear with ES only. Anointed 'Ancient Aegis'. Taken grim feast and i have no issues surviving. Because evasion just sucks. It does come at a compromise of damage because the pathing needs more nodes. Not to mention youll have 4k-6k honor depending on relics. Last edited by Hoolagun#9936 on Jan 7, 2025, 9:09:18 PM

the real issue is that ES works against everything while armour and EV are both limited to specific things.
Then GGG decided to put a ton of ES scaling an multiplicative synergies all over the game for ES, while leaving AR and Life in a terrible place, and giving EV super synergy with ES. Because, of course they did, they did the exact same thing with POE1 and it took them most of the games life span to get them into some semblance of balance. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. |

" But if this was the case, why didn't GGG learn from this? They had 10+ years in POE1 to learn from it to POE2 but brought the same thing in? Or maybe they just brought the same concept and will adjust it later or keep it since it is a 'different game'? |

" I think GGG has never really understood or cared about the implications of Enemy Density. Base ES is less effective in PoE1 because you have 50 incoming attacks at all times. That's not the case with PoE2 which is good but they obviously forgot how strong ES was back in the day because there were far less enemies back then too. The exact same results occurred. Short memory or something because they made the same exact mistake twice. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

" That's a very good question, actually. You should go ask GGG. There is a bunch of stuff in PoE2 that failed and was changed in PoE1 at some point or another because of overwhelmingly negative feedback. And for some kind of reason GGG decided to repeat the same thing while expecting a different outcome. I feel like doing that has a name. It escapes me 🤔 |

Not learning from mistakes. its how you remain a non expert in something.
The slowest builds have the worst eHP pool, and defense while the most mobile builds have the largest most recoverable eHP pool. logically speaking the exact opposite of how it should work.
