I just lost 30 Divines, please change this GGG

Damn that is ridiculous.

That omen should work the way you think it does. They have the word Tier next to numbers on the item. There is absolutely no reason to think it would do anything other than remove the one with the lowest number.

This is like your orb of annulment removing a modifier from "An item" meaning just a random one from a random item in your equipment or inventory.

Players are supposed to know they should disrobe and empty their pockets except the one item they want to change before using it.

Well, now we know.
Thank you for the science! 😁
i press F for you.

i'm never play POE1 and just joined at start of EA.

but each days i read discussion about this game the more i found red alerts for the devs.

no wonder build based on my experiences playing lot of rpgs not work for this game, but changed it like playing vampire survivors make it works lol.
For expensive Omens that are supposed to DETERMINISTALLY interact with currency and items it should tell you exactly what will be removed/altered so there is ZERO doubt.

If you could be shown what might change [for Omens that update prefixes or suffixes] that would also be great.

Just another example of needing third-party resources in order to play the game correctly. No big deal lol
Sorry, i feel your loss.

There was so much talk from GGG going into this early access on how they wanted to remove the unnecessary bloat from PoE1 to make this game easier to get into for new players.
And the result is, they mostly removed features and choices from PoE1, yet those we still have are muddled even more in obscurity.
Like not being able to see the tier of a mod, see wether its prefix or suffix, hell not even seeing hybrid mods for example.
One of the bigger disappointments of this early access so far!
I understand the frustration, but this makes sense to me.

Otherwise, if there was an ilvl 81 only modifier that doesn't have lower tiers, it would always be the "lowest tier" modifier of its type and it would get removed, despite being the highest value modifier on that item. A good example of this would be the additional charm modifiers prior to the changes. Only two tiers, extremely high ilvl.

When I read those omens I immediately expected them to remove the modifiers that correspond to the lowest ilvl.
Love the games. PoE1 way more so than PoE2, but still enjoying both.

Hate the company. The scummy, lying, fake and shitty facade, the excuses, the failures, and most of all, the "Vision".

Keep both of those in mind when reading my posts.
For someone experienced with crafting it kinda makes sense and can understand the real use of the omen.. but for most people that start crafting is imposible to know it and will fail as I did.

Indeed it is insane. I want to think that this is on their "To-do list" of things because it makes no sense.

If you hover the cursor over the T6,T5,T8 description of Mods a pop-up appears telling you an extended description of that Tier like:

"Suffix modifier "of the phantom" (TIER 8) - Attribute"

WTF GGG why in the hell didn't you think.. Hey, lets put, also, the minimum level of this mod, so players can know it when crafting.

Right now I must think.. Yeah, indeed "Of the phantom" sounds more powerful than "Of the Savant", no doubt it will be more level.

We've tried to tell them this since 2021 when they shoved this mod onto Rog.

Nothing has happened since then.

I had been saving currency to buy myself a good crossbow. I saw one on poeTrade for 25 Divines that still had one mod slot available, and the lowest tier mod it had was 30% reduced stat requirements. I decided to make an investment and buy it, then immediately purchased an Omen of Whittling to remove the stat requirement mod. What was the surprise?

Anyone who hasn't experienced this might think the following:
The chaos orb you use when Omen of Whittling is active removes the modifier with the lowest tier from the item's list of modifiers.

But no, Omen of Whittling removes the modifier with the lowest level that the item has. And what does this mean? Well, it's the mod that can appear at the lowest item level. For example, attack speed mods can appear on items with a level of 30+, all attributes on level 40+ items, etc. It has nothing to do with the tiers shown in the item's description when you press ALT.

And where are these levels reflected? They aren't. A player who, for whatever reason, hasn't previously read about this is going to experience exactly this.

Because of this, it didn’t remove the 30% reduced stat requirements; instead, it removed an impressive 17% attack speed, which turned a 25 Divine crossbow into a 3 Divine one.

GGG, if you have items that interact with the level of mods, reflect it somewhere. Otherwise, players won't know what's going to happen. It's not reasonable to have to consult an external page to figure out how an item, worth no less than 850 Exalted at the time of this post, is going work.

Just put the min level of a mod near the Tier level, is not hard. and there is plenty space for it. T3-lvl30, T4-lvl50. Or whatever you want to do, but please show it...
Think about how I feel, and how other people will feel right after basically destroying 30 Divines farmed in countless hours for nothing.

And please, refrain from useless comments like, "30 Divines is nothing; I can make 30 Divines in an afternoon." Because players like that are not the majority. For most players, earning 30 Divines takes weeks of investing a significant number of hours.

Should have asked someone. The modifiers have levels based of their values and desirability and rarity of the modifier. It is your fault for trying 30 times before asking someone. Global chat exists for a reason.

P.S. it does show the tier on the right side if you mouse over the modifier you are looking at.
