Loot progression is terrible

It's been very rewarding for me. I got a decent ingenuity belt first time killing KOTM. I got some HOWAs that I corrupted and ended up being great. I corrupted my own pillar that I found for the 12%. I got a melting maelstrom from simulacrum. I got a 4dex/3int against the dark diamond first time killing Trails boss with the right relic. I got a decent morior drop from Arbiter. I don't know - loot progression seems great for me. Yes, there is a ton of garbage that drops. Trade site issues I have not experienced so I can't relate.

You just forgot to tell you sunk hundreds of hours into the game so far...

You also only mentioned target-farmable items.
OP is talking about gear in general, most of which is going to be rares.

Loot in general, what drops, the progression of it, the low tier rolls on high level items, completely useless stats, and horrible RNG royally sucks. Loot is the core of any ARPG, and 99.9999% of everything that drops isn't worth picking up. How is this even ok? It's inexcusable and unacceptable. GGG needs to fix this ASAP.

Even going through the campaign means you're getting through 15+ levels levels without a single gear upgrade.

Hey, don't go spreading misinformation. In this game you can't know if it's worth something until you waste time stopping your map progression, picking it up and identifying it!

Also, being fair to the game, it's more closer to 99.9% or 99.99% than your figure...

I think loot sucks full stop haha like you're running round level 96 smashing a T17 or 18 and you're getting level 1 uniques more than anything else its weirdddd.

This is a huge problem with everything that drops in my view. Why the fuck am I getting tier 1-10 waystones dropping in my tier 18 maps? It's just dumb.

If you're playing super juiced maps there should be a lot more tier 5 pieces dropping and a lot less useless crap.

Also I don't understand why tiered items don't have their crafted affixes impacted by their quality. I get a tier 5 item and then exalt a bunch of T1-3 affixes on it? It's just bad. The odds of getting the exact stats you want is already insanely low. Getting dogshit tiers of the stat just makes it worse.

and that's why there's so much reliance on the market

580 hrs, 2 good qstaff orbing, everything else is trash, so used trading to get some gear

That was my experience on maps 150-227 rarity from gear + charm + rarity from atlas + 20+ iir on stones etc.

It's just stupid gambling

I’m not saying drop gear like a piñata as D4 does but seriously doing t15 maps/ waypoint and getting bows with 16-24 physical damage is just terrible. I would like loot to be a part to interact with and be a good experience and not be forced to the trade site just to get meaningful gear. I’ve tried the trade site a few times but Everytime no one responds anyway. I want to earn my gear by playing the game and be wow’d by what I find. I can farm and get currency, anyone can do that but I want to find the gear. If you insist upon having trading at least put that auction house type thing in that was in Poe 1 so we don’t get endless no responses from the trade website.

Yesssss, you right.

I don't even care about endgame loot at this point: The campaign is not supposed to be a struggle/grind for gear. I shouldn't need to grind campaign areas several times just to "maybe" get my character viable enough to continue the campaign.

Yes it is and you should.
You've been spoiled by modern ARPG design.

Huge "newer generation kids are all lazy" energy there.
What's the actual argument? That old ARPG design is better because it wastes more of the player's time instead of giving them a choice?
