If this new PoE 1 event doesn't capture a lot of players

As someone with over 2k hours in poe1, imma say,

I couldnt care less about this legacy of whatever. Its an event to shut people up. Whiners from poe1 want their cake and eat it too, and can't accept waiting, so ggg had to waste resources putting together this crap to shut them up.

waste of time and resources, but at least the whinging has quietened
POE1 will continue to get to support until POE2 goes FREE2PLAY (ie when they're no longer selling keys effectively). And all of the mTX options are converted over to pOE2.

I am sure they're still making decent money from POE1 considering it has 10x the MTX options. I'm going to say 2 years at least until sales for EA keys are no longer worth it. But as it stands now I'm thinking everytime they release a new big content update for POE2 it's going to push sales for keys. So that is the reason they're not doing small incremental updates but instead doing large updates spread out, as it is better marketing. And better for player retention as they're not nuking everyones build every two weeks. Nothing to do with POE1.

Only for your understanding, in the "Ultimatum" league the Steam number peak was at 154k players, but on the "Frankfurt Realm" alone we had a 180k queue.
So even a single realm is able to "fit" all players on Steam.

This is wrong, majority of players play with Steam, not the Standalone, this has been proven multiple times indirectly by GGG:

Example from the 2nd best PoE1 league:

321,180

Crucible steam count:

https://steamdb.info/app/238960/charts/#3y

https://poedb.tw/us/League#ConcurrentPlayers
211,637

Calculated Standalone max player count: 109,543
Real percentage share: 65.91% and 34.09% (Steam and Standalone, respectively)

This stays consistent for all leagues, within 5% range.

Anecdotal percentage distribution: 46.11% and 53.89% (steam and standalone): this is not based on reality

Moral: Majority of Path of Exile 1 players use the Steam client.

Unrelated point of contention:

The new Path of Exile 1 event, The Legend of Phrecia will consist of mainly the core Path of Exile 1 players, it's max player count value will be the actual or real core player base of Path of Exile 1 fans, players who are also opposed to Path of Exile 2. This will have a max concurrent player count value on steam of around 60,000 players.

These numbers include China?

These numbers include China?

Very ignorant question(riddled with malice):

1) PoE(global version) is region locked in China, it is not directly accessible there, majority use VPN to access our version of the game, this directly limits the active flow of players, and hence the game is not even remotely popular to the others regions like US or Russia.

2) Chinese client and PoE is vastly different from the global PoE, with different mechanics and is essentially a completely different game, they cannot be considered the "" core"" playerbase of Path of Exile.

That China has a separate client with tons of P2W features is known, but they are still PoE players and furthermore, especially with PoE2 something you have to consider when comparing numbers.
